I think im pretty much on the border between rawai and chalong, so I dont know where im getting my signal from, but it is still showing 1 bar here. pretty annoying.

I also suffered from the 1-2 seconds disconnections when I used it in november and start of december.

You have to pay for water and electricity too but i couldnt tell you how much it will cost since first month i had to pay 150 baht for both my landlord knew there was a mistake but didnt care enought to check again.
it s on patak road after the gaz station when you come from kata. if you might be interested react fast since they will be available for a really short period , my landlord phone number is 08966723577

Hello guys,

I'll be in Thailand 'bkk' next week for 3 months, and i may extend my stay there for a year or two, by applying for a student visa. So, I've some questions about opening a bank account there, is that easy with just a tourist visa ? And would I be able to get a visa or mastercard, so i can use it in other countries ?

Thank you

It's a very easy to open a bank account. I think most people use Kbank. Not sure about credit cards.

I have boots/fins and might want to do scuba but they are pretty big and it'd be kinda hassle packing them/hauling them around.

should i just rent them at location if I want to go diving?or are there a lot of sites around phuket that I'd want to snorkle for longish distances.

like kap arai said you can open a bank account with KBank (the green bank). you will need your passport, an address in thailand and possibly a thai contact (name+phone number)

you wont get a credit card without a work permit afaik. they will issue a debit card and it works abroad too

for some stuff (lost debit card AND passbook) you need to go back to the branch you opened the account at... something to keep in mind when setting up your kbank acct
