Is it easy to find clothes for taller guys in Bangkok? I am 6'2" so not that tall but have had trouble finding stuff in Korea.

What about shoes U.S. size 12/Europe size 44?

The average Thai guy is like 5'4" 110 pounds (or thereabouts), so most clothes are made for that frame. If you are either tall or fat you're going to have to go to special spots to get your clothes. They exist but expect a lot of disappointment spotting clothes you like only to find out they don't have your size.

MBK is a good place to go to find a decent selection of big and tall clothes.

In malls? Name brands? Generic brands? Knock-off stuff? Not sure what the Bangkok clothing market is like.

Thanks

under 1k a night with good facilities 'near all the action' will be tough.

anywhere on sukhumvit if you don't mind a short bts ride or cab trip. soi 4 and 23 are the red light districts, lots of cool bars and restaurants in the thoglor and ekkamai areas. the asoke area has a lot of good hotels and is basically in the middle of all of that.

I'm 6'3" and I have no problem finding clothes either (malls, name brands, etc). I would suggest buying shoes elsewhere though because the selection in 12+ is really limited.

So you want to stay in the best part of Sukhumvit, during the high tourist season, in a place with good facilities - and you want it all for under $30?

Thailand hotels are cheap, but they're not that cheap.

just had a freaking lizard in our hotel room on the 19th floor, only a tiny gecko thing, but still wtf!! the girl that came up to get it was like omg! then a male worker came in and hit it with a towel, knocking it onto a bed, then it fell/ran under the beds. he them moved the beds and stamped on it before picking it up with his hands and re-arranging the beds before leaving while the girl giggled.

Ya I had one of those on the 24th floor at my last condo building. Never called anybody to get it I just let him live there - saw him around for a few weeks then he disappeared.

lol of course not. don't know why you'd want the gecko out unless it was causing sleep problems with that clicking noise they make. they keep out bugs and are pretty cool to watch.

How much are you guys living off a month there, only partying maybe 1-2 a week and not eating out every night? Is $2.5k-$3k month enough or would I need more (or less if possible).

Plan on going for 3-4 months but thinking about staying longer now.
