Opens 8:30am.

When I for visa extension the process was:

9:15am: Arrive
9:20am: Fill in forms quickly, attach passport photos
9:25am: Get queue ticket
I went and ate after getting ticket in the food hall downstairs
10:40am: Number called, leave passport for processing
11:25am: Collect passport with new stamp

They break for lunch at 12, so if your visa is not done by then you will be waiting another hour. They close to applicants at 4:30pm.

wow, i had an idea that's how long it took if you arrived at immigration at that time but i'm still surprised. here's my breakdown...

8:40 am: arrive
8:45 am: get photocopy and fill out forms
8:55 am: get queue ticket
9:15 am: Number called, leave passport for processing
9:50 am: Collect passport with new stamp

after i queue up there's usually only 3-4 numbers ahead of me. the queue ticket will tell you how many people are ahead of you. one time my passport wasn't finished until 11:50 am but that was the first working day after songkran.

I had the same plan last time. Only when I got my number there were 40 people ahead of me and they only called new numbers like once every half hour. I arrived at like 10am and wasn't out of there until after they closed - 4:30 or something IIRC.

Anytime I've shown up at like 2:30 or 3:00 I've been out in less than an hour. Could have been just variance/a bad day but I'm never waking up early to go down there again.

Theres been two times ive been there and i walk straight into the office, i was first in the queue for my student visa extension, then proceeded to get re-entry and adress notification over that in 45 min.

Then last time it took me 2h30 to get only my student visa extension, its very random.

And on a related note, im just coming back from swiiiiing and for once the traffic jam on petchburi wasnt too bad

i don't think i've ever had it take more than 15 minutes longer than it took me to fill out the form in Phuket.

had my assistant drive me there at 10:30 when i slept. Had her do all the photo copying, filling out forms while i read wikipedia articles on my phone. Gave my passport to them at noon. went downstairs to eat hong kong noodles, back up at 1 to pick them up.

winnar.

don't they go to lunch from 12-1?

immigration queue times depend on the season, weekday, if there were holidays in the past couple of days etc

in phuket ive gotten in and out low season wednesday at 11am in 15mins

once after holidays i had to wait over 2 hours

Very random, but has anyone ever noticed that when the happy brithday song is sung here they omit the "Dear x" line and just cramp in another non fitting "happy birthday". First time I heard it I thought it was me hearing wrong but it seems to be the only way they know..

yes, i made the mistake during the song and there werent enough people singing for it not to be noticeable.

unless they are terrible with rhythm I don't see how its cramped/doesn't fit.

still interesting tho

Where is it possible to play badminton/squash in the Rawai area? I can only find tennis courts, or some squash in patong but its too far away.

Chalong if fine, but what is land and house? is it an hotel with sport courts? or a fitness center?

it is a housing development. if you go from chalong circle towards central it is about 1km from the circle on the right. you cant really miss it if you are looking for it. big entrance and separate gates for ppl going in and out

they have a big sports area with basketball court, tabletennis, badminton, huge pool, massage etc.
If you are not a member its 170baht for a 1 day pass. If you take the entrance on Chaofa West (the one Lessu guided you to) the sports club will be on your left about 1km in. The area is huge so maybe you will have to ask one of the guards or whatever. on Chaofa East the entrance is 100m before Fattys/Chalong gym coming from the circle.

I hope you're leveling... KKF is the legend that pioneered Thailand and Thailand threads on 2+2 even before Degen started these. I don't think anyone knows him in real life though.
