i generally prefer the stuffed omelettes (Kai Yao Sai or Kai Soht Sai) to the meat omelettes (Kai Jeow Mu for example)

if you're at an Isaan place, try Kai Jeow Naam Mu, Naam Mu is this great pork and lime sausage from Isaan, and it's perfect for an omelette.

Been to Perth lately? I lived in Melbourne CBD for 5 years, went to Perth a few months back and was astonished at how expensive it is.

Perth now seems like an even bigger beat now than what I remember. I'd be pretty suprised if housing is more exp in perth

A 3brm/2bath house in the suburbs, 20km from the CBD will run you about $800,000 in Perth.

ShipitFMA,

what kind of place you have back home (assuming you are living alone?)

back home I was renting a 46.5m² 2 bedroom+kitchen+bathroom condo just across the university. these houses were meant only for students though (i was living alone in mine though)

I was paying a bit under 400 euros a month (AUD$560), water incl., FAST internet incl. maybe 20 euros extra for elec per month

how much would you pay for ~similar setup in australia?

My knowledge is pretty limited, but i've been looking lately. I know two sets of friends who both live in 2 br, 2bath, kitchen/living room deal and they pay 2k a month (total) before internet, cable etc...Pretty good location too, walking distance from crown, pretty much the city

Just did a quick search and actually found a pretty awesome 2br place for $330/week

If you don't want to live in the city it'll be a bit cheaper (wouldn't really recommend it though)

"Why am I getting Korean porn on cable TV?

Did anyone notice the Korean porno on Phuket Cable Channel 1 the other day? It wasn’t just once or twice, but for hours. I kept flicking back as I couldn’t believe it was still going. My husband said I must have been dreaming because porn is illegal in Thailand.

I’m not happy with Phuket Cable Company. I can only take so much of the inefficient monitoring of programs. Movies that are supposed to be in English, but yet again it switches to Thai. Who else out there has had enough? I know I have.
Toni Ashton-Moir, Kathu Wednesday, August 18, 2010

“We did not play any porn films, and we are so sorry about this happening. There was a technical fault with the broadcasting equipment, and the porn film was somehow broadcast to our viewers by accident.

About programs being broadcast in the wrong language, this is also the result of problems with the equipment. The language automatically switches from English to Thai. We have already informed the TV signal control room about all of these problems. We have had many customers calling to complain about this issue.

For more information, call us at 076-258448.”

Haha... it's one of those Thailand things. You either get a big laugh out of it or the country frustrates you into a nervous breakdown.

I've been trying to lock down an apartment in Kata threw an agency. I found a spot I like. The electricity is 5 baht/unit. Am I getting exploited here?

ive seen some decent ones on the same road where bangkok hospital is. from bangkok hospital going towards the center of p-town (south-east) maybe 500-700 meters there are shops on both sides of the road (ive found the one on the left better)

well i guess those might not be as "top notch" as you are looking for but they had some 5-15k chairs that felt pretty firm and nice

Working chair like an office chair?

Office Depot baby. I got mine for 3,000 or so, assembled (takes 5 minutes), and with free delivery (next-day delivery, so I just jammed it into a taxi).

Also, I was bitching last week about my lost Amazon order. Turns out, surprisingly, that there was an error in the mailing address (my fault), and my orders have in fact been sitting in the office for about 3 weeks, so I'd recommend Amazon.com shipping to Thailand, but get your damn address right.
