@ Raven/Jigaws - thanks guys for the recs! much appreciated. it would be hard not to like french or japanese food. i thought i had been to yumeji, but i just went to a ramen place nearby on the opposite side of sukhumvit. i'm going to save both of those places for future visits.

i ended up taking her to minibar royale and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere can't be put down either! it's the closest thing to a new york/french brasserie in bkk. supposedly the three thai girls that started it lived in nyc and came back and started the restaurant. numerous thai celebrities - according to my friend - including a guy that has his own talk shows and a girl that is an "MC" for channel 7!!

So the question is more about the law, and less about the tin foil hat
Bananface was just joking, everyone posting here plays online poker in Thailand, and nobody has ever got into any trouble for it.

Maybe I'm paranoid but I think maybe we should be cautious about what we tell this guy........

Something seems off. He's being too explicit.

fwiw we had TOT in bangkok and it was completely unusable about 90% of the time and after doing research it is regarded as worthless compared to similar options.

Data recovery advice anyone??

External hard drive died. I need to find somewhere in Bangkok to do laboratory grade recovery.

Its clicking and obv has some physical damage (I leaned on it) and I really need the stuff back on it.

Im guessing I will pay out the ass but I need somewhere with discretion etc.

Any advice? thanks guys

Pantip may not be able to do the work but they will definitely know where it can be done (if it can). I'd go there looking for an older English speaking owner of a shop that does repairs and ask him.

Going back to Phuket next week for a long period, we wanted to buy our motobikes but apparently foreigners are not allowed to buy those and can only rent them. Is that true? Looks strange to me.
