in his defense, he is alone where hes at and the only advice/life coaching he is getting is from busto English teachers. However I think if he read this thread from page 1, he'd be significantly better off.

First off I don't really take any life advice from the busto english teachers, I moved away from the apartment complex most stay in after 1 month with my roomate and once in a while kick it with them all but it's not very fun. They seem much more lost than me and have resigned themselves to hanging together in a posse and complaining about the same different things that I think are cool. Also I have yet to see a Thai girl around them ever. I like Nakohn and Thailand a lot, even if I'm the wandering falang, it's tons of fun to me. It's just smaller and falang are so rare. So me making an effort to hang out with thai people and do thai stuff is the exception. Would I want to be in a bigger city where there's more nightlife and have both the super-authentic thai world as well as western stuff and some non-busto farang friends and english-speaking Thai people...well ya. Realize I sort of threw myself into this teaching/thailand thing, started looking into it and was on a plane a month later. So you guys help out a lot.

Last night my weed hook up guy who is also my taxi-guy now came over and I was talking to him about her so he wanted to see her and we went and saw her at work. I bet Brazil with my friends in a pool and saw the own goal so I start drinking whiskey, and go home early b/c apple just said she's coming over later and didn't care about Ghana-Uruguay. Also would like to add that for me the term gf I use in lack of better terms. Like still always get other girls phone numbers and try to set up dates and banged out some rando in Koh Samui etc etc. If I can't have a deep conversation with her or whatever hard to have that much allegiance or true feelings and I just don't know what's going on half the time, (ok more than half). Though she kind seems like a punk at heart which I like and isn't super quiet/submissive and before last night didn't ask me to give her money so seems like a decent one.

From her end I go meet her family we go to the park all together and drive to Surat to meet her grandma. She also is asking me how I plan on becoming a thai citizen and will i live here foreverer. I haven't seen any of these 400bt hookers or any hookers that are just straight soliciting so this is only word from thai ppls who want to take me to them; (they allegedly hang out by the train station at some seedy hotel, so +100000 for them being dogs) If I see them I'll try to snap some cell phone pics to see if there are any treasures in the bargain bin.

A lot of ppl are asking about the visa I got and why I went all the way to Perth to get it so here is a smallish TR to cover that and other stuff from my boring trip.

I flew with thai airways Bangkok - Perth - Phuket(the ticket was to bangkok but as they make a stop in phuket on the way back i asked to be let out too). I paid 19.3k baht. that was a promo flight and THAI is extending the promo period so if you want to do the same trip you can book the same flight until 30th of september.

it takes 6½ hours to fly from bkk to perth and about 6 from perth to phuket (another 2½ hours after they land to phuket before they land to bangkok)

the reasons I spent some extra money and time to go to perth to get this visa are:
the visa is valid for a year

every time I come into thailand I get a 90-day stamp. there are no trips to immigration as you cant extend this visa inside thailand but compared to tourist visa you also save money and the 1900 baht since you dont have to do the extension

multiple entries meaning i can leave and come back to thailand with this visa for the year as many times as i want and every time i will get a 90-day stamp. with tourist visa you have a limited number of entries

it also means i dont have to worry about a new visa for 15 months (if you come into the country one day before the visa expires you get another 90-day stamp)

you also dont need anything special to get this visa. the only thing you need more compared to tourist visas is a copy of a thai friends ID in thailand. for the reason to get this visa you can state visiting a friend, girlfriend etc.

what you need is:
AUD$225
fill the standard visa application
fill the additional visa application for non immigrant type O applicants
copy of thais ID card/passport
flight back to thailand
for non aussies you need to spend one night in perth before you can apply and have proof of stay there

I went to the consulate at 9am and got my visa at 1pm the same day

perth itself was pretty boring though I went there the worst possible time. temperatures were max 15-18 during the day and went as low as 3 in the night/morning (celcius)

I visited the perth casino (burswood) that was ok atleast for me as i havent been to many casinos. tuesday afternoon they were running 5/5nlhe and 10/20flhe(AUD)

later they opened couple of 2/3nlhe tables which i played a bit. rake was pretty horrible: 10% up to $10 and there was a note saying they will (have now) raise the cap to $12 on 1st of july

everything in perth city closed after 7pm. just few random restaurants were open. only mcdonalds was open after 10pm

I am pretty sure I would like it more going with someone or going different time but I still have no regrets since I got the visa which is why I went there
