You're probably right, but the point is, it's gonna drive you crazy to live over here if you can't let the little things slide. Cause they will slide. A lot.

99.9% of the time a meh attitude, a fake smile and "Mai pen rai" are the best solution.

all brands are upped in $ here, went into a rip curl store in a mall and boardshorts were like 3 or 4k baht (like 100 bucks). buy all expensive **** before coming, i shipped some t-shirts and basically paid like 300 in taxes and shipping for 10 shirts. was very -EV.

Also, i'm shipping a bunch of old clothes and crap back home to USA. am I gonna get taxed again?

smart suites by qbar has good internet, decent rooms, good location. pay around 1500/night high season. so should be lower now, and they'll negotiate a decent amount for a long term stay.

Has anyone managed to get a tourist visa for a Thai to enter a EU country? If so, how difficult is it to get one issued and what supporting documents would I need to provide?

Check your country's embassy's website

It's not the easiest process but with a bit research and hassle it's doable

just wanted to bump this, I'm the other roomate.

Our house is pretty sick(if a bit pricey, which is why we are looking at getting a roomate), backyard, pool. etc. We have the lease till December but are open to renting out a room shorter term.

also wanted to say that no matter how cool you might be, I still get 1st pick when Showpow's girl brings a drunk friend with her to the house at 1am
