you'll need to be more specific about what you are looking for, also, see addendum

If you're going to be having business dinners, or going to clubs with groups of japanese men, suits are a must.

100% of the respondants in this post go to Bed Supper with Plaid shorts, Phat Farm shirts, Atlanta Braves New Era caps, and Air Force Ones.

we all have personal assistants. I found mine on Soi Nana, and I retain her for the hummers.

Addendum: I wasn't really trying to be a jackass, i put some real info in there when i had it. A part of the reason why Phuket > BKK for 2+2'ers is that most of the posters who are helpful and answer these kinds of questions live in Phuket. hopefully somebody steps up to help you.

A Few Questions

1) How many of you guys live by yourselves/how many of you have roommates?
Most ppl tend to live with roomates#

2) What's the best, most central area to live in? Any particular streets or condos (less than $1500 per month)?
Silom and Higher Sukhumvit is the place most ppl choose to live. Ratchada is another popular area with 2+2ers

3) Does anybody live in an apartment with a nice view? When I stayed at the Banyan Tree the views were amazing. I'd like to find a condo with a view like that.
Plenty of apartments available with nice views

4) How is Internet? Has anybody taken any actions to prevent disconnects (ie, second connection, airport card)?
If you have your own private internet conncetion in BKK it is equivalent to Western Standards imo. Shared internet in hotels and serviced apartments is ok but you will suffer some disconnects

5) If I unlock my iPhone in US, will I be able to easily switch to Bangkok's service provider for the iPhone?
yes

6) How many 2+2ers golf in Bangkok?
None that I know of, but would be easy to arrange as you can hire all the equipment directly at the course

7) Is there a good gym in BKK with free weights where I can do things like squats and cleans?
Yes, many

8) How tough is speaking Thai?
pasaar thai yaak

9) Anybody learning Mandarin in Bangkok?
Thailand is 13% chineses i believe, so studying should be available

10) Does anybody live in Chinatown? Thoughts?
Not that I know of

11) I just bought a few suits and long sleeve shirts. If I fly to Tokyo they might come in handy, but is there ever a time to wear a suit or blazer in BKK? What do you people wear if they go out to the Bed Supperclub? I know it's hot.
2+2ers never wear suits on a nightout, but you would not look out of place wearing one at Bed Super Club

12) Are there decent laundry/folding and dry cleaning services in BKK? Are they cheap?
yes. most ppl just have a maid though

13) How many of you guys have personal assistants? How did you find them? What tasks do you have them do?
I know at least one person has a PA, but not sure how he found her

Maybe you just don't read your own posts.

Take a good look at the post you made which that responded to.

PA is easy. Run the following in the Bangkok Post:

Looking for intelligent, English speaking, University educated, attractive , young personal assistant with a car who knows how to ( whatever you need done: make tacos, use Excel, do dishes whatever). Send resume and recent photo to myemail@address.com

If you think I am joking, I am not. You can ask for whatever you want and photo is standard. Pay them like 25k Baht for 6 10 hour days and they'll be ecstatic.

No, the guy making physical threats in an internet forum fails. And you fail for attempting to defend him.

You guys continually act like you are the only people who have ever been to Thailand, and as a result have the right to dictate who says what in this thread. News flash, there are are over 15 million people visiting Thailand each year, you aren't special.

Why do you try to alienate yourself with the people making idiotic posts at every turn? You make a lot of decent posts a good amount of the time, but it's tainted by your incredibly stupid posts and terrible attitude. That Rosa Parks analogy is probably one of the single dumbest things I've read on two plus two in a very long time. Like Acer mentioned, that says a lot. It just seems strange to me, because you don't seem nearly as dumb as you make yourself out to be.

i think if you guys just stop responding to scabs and spiv, it will prob help. they seem like loser argument whores that want to argue in threads bc no one gives a f*ck enough to talk to them in real life/they have no real life friends to argue with..... and yeah the rosa parks post blew my mind

wow more fails, you really need to learn how to read

1. you said "internet tough guy" which is pretty fail when talking about newteabag. I didn't say anything about making physical threats but I understand you oldtimers getting grumpy sometimes (I think that goes to both of you )

2. you actually sound much more like the person who thinks they are special when they spend part of the year in thailand (afaik that's you?)

3. Like John, I used to like most of your posts since you have lived in Samui so you can give info from there as I think no one else has stayed there long term and some of us haven't even visited.

4. ok you say there are 15M ppl visiting thailand every year (not saying it's right or wrong number, i havent checked). How many % of those people stay here 95% of the year? I think most of the regulars in this thread are special if that's how you measure being special

5. random thought about being special: I'm not rich, famous nor do I play high stakes. I dropped out from university studying something I couldn't care less about after 2 years. My friends have now graduated to be unemployed apart from couple of them who got decent jobs. When I think about how many people actually have the chance to spend their late 20's in a place like this working well under 100 hours a month when you feel like it makes me feel a bit special

Now maybe everyone could chill, have a Magners and have a nice and especially safe songkran where ever they are

if you stay away from the areas where the red shirts are gathering you will be fine. just follow some news, this thread and the live updates from thaivisa for example to find out the bad areas

are you planning to stay in bkk or going somewhere else in thailand?
