i'm with Ron on this one, I'd prefer people didn't get into the habit of casually discussing thai royalty in these threads. it's not like this is someone asking people to not mention ladyboys because it makes them uncomfortable or something... there are valid reasons to not want that discussion to take place.

FWIW the Thai's can censor TV because it is based in Thailand. They cannot censor any site they want. Pretty sure MM would tell them to eat a dick if they tried to censor 2+2.

And before you say it, VPNs are either expensive, or slow and full of annoying ads, and are a big risk for poker players. Getting this site blocked would be a major hassle for all Thailand players.

Asia Books and Kinokuniya are quite big bookstores. They have many stores about and large one in Emporium. You might be able to order through them.

Not sure if you guys want to do this the serious way, but here goes:

-Human rights have a several rights (articles) regarding freedom of expression.
-Thai culture doesnt allow discussion of thai monarchy.

if you believe that human rights are anything to go by, then its not right to try to censor other posters here, no matter how ridiculous (and i also agree that i dont especially like scrubs comments).

my personal view is that i respect thai culture here, and dont discuss monarchy much at all. but on a site like this, its inappropriate to disallow negative comments IMO. Of course, there is a small chance 2+2 gets banned, but thats the cost of human rights.

this is a private forum and the mods of this forum are certainly not in violation of anyone's human rights by banning whatever discussion they want.

likewise, we as posters (and unlike most threads, members of a community somewhat based on this thread) are definitely not violating anyone's human rights by asking them not to do something that we know our hosts here in thailand (and not just the government) are very uncomfortable with.

no one actually wants this bull****, this is not a human rights issue, or a moral issue. please let it die.

i dont really care what you do, just pointing out some things. btw, human rights are not something you can put some places and other places not, thats sort of the point of them.

I found the monarchy talk to be fairly interesting and i doubt 2p2 has much risk of being banned. That being said it would suck really bad if it did get ip banned in thailand.
