Hi guyz,

I am in BKK right now and i have never done a Visa run before. I must exit the country before 26th.

I am planning to do it in Malaysia to get a 3 month Visa, and then going to Phuket Island.

1. Nationals of the following countries DO NOT REQUIRE VISA for Social Visit. The duration of stay is 3 Months only. The countries are : blablablablablabla, Canada (wich is where i am from)

Can any of you confirm this ? Ty !

I am a Canadian and I stayed in Malaysia for over 4 years on tourist visas - 90days at a time...no worries...best and easiest immigration imo - nothing to worry about

Malaysia is the best place to go if you already have a visa and just want/have to leave the country and come back to thailand as they don't have visa fees entering the country or leaving it.

laos has a $35 fee for their visa on entry and cambodia has $20 visa fee on entry and $25 exit fee

if you need a new visa (you have used all entries from your existing one if you had one) AND want to stay in thailand longterm but also don't want to go anywhere far then Laos is the best bet getting the new visa as it's the only neighbouring country to Thailand that issues double entry tourist visas (good for 6 months stay in thailand with extensions and one border run).

obv if you got kids with a thai or are married or in school etc then you got other options but tourist visas are the most hassle free atm IMO

if someone wants answers to their specific situation just PM me or post here

V residence look nice, but doesnt have a pool... so its a big no for me. I dont know Hopeland. You should check the new Pan Pacific Suites on Thong lor soi 8, it look pretty good.

Hey, I'm in Phuket now and really want to either start going to a gym and/or do some Muay Thai training.

-Where are the island's good gyms? (preferably would like to see a squat rack, bench etc.)
-Is the Muay Thai training thing also for people who don't want to fight? I'm just interested in getting fit and heard the personal trainers can be super cheap

There are quite a few decent gyms on Phuket.
Where are you staying?
Don's gym in Kata is decent. Has bench, squat rack etc.
Chalong gym is also good as is Nai Harn gym (the latter is a bit expensive though)
I haven't been to Rawai gym but heard it's decent altho old equipment...

where is a good place to start looking? i hear thong lor is a really nice area to live. I want to be kind of out of the grimey parts of BKK. I checked out the Prime11 condos, they look pretty good but im sure I can find better.

Im paying like 800 / month right now for rent back home so something around that would be fine .

Also what about internet? we want to get the fastest internet here. We are currently staying in the presidential suite in Grand Sukhimvit and they gave us our own router but its still not that fast. Its definately a solid connection but not as fast as we would like.

thanks!!
It's going to be hard to get 2-3 bedroom pat with fast Internet and good location like thong lor for $800/mo. if you want to have a furnished place that doesn't look like it came out of a 70s movie. That's my experience at least...

I've been looking at thaivisa.com classifieds for a place. Are there any other resources to use? Newspaper? Reputable agencies recommended by 2p2 members?

Take a look at thaiapartment.com

Also, to clarify my response above, I think you should be able to get 1 bedroom or studio for that price. But not 2-3 bedroom.

Most serviced apartments allow you to rent by the week, month, year - giving small discounts for longer commitments.
