I didn't mean it was easy, but direct flights to BKK and Phuket are not bad at all. Last year I flew 5 times back and forth Europe and Thailand... Compared to that "taking a holiday" when you live over here is a peace of cake.

You can fly down to Trat now from bkk, wouldnt think it would be that expensive.
Koh chang is part of Trat btw, even tho its obv an island.

I'm coming to Thailand for 4 weeks starting the 17th May.

I want to do the following:

Full moon party
Tubing (think thats what its called)
Ride an elephant (may not be thailand)
Drink lots

Any other suggestions? I just want to do things I haven't done before. Maybe even scuba dive, bungee jump whatever is about really!

Well you can do all those things but the Full Moon Party is in KPG which is a fair way from any white water rivers that I know of, so you might have to travel around a bit.

There are probably places you can Bungee Jump in Thailand too but if you saw the attitude to safety over here I'm not sure it's something you would ever seriously consider.

Rain will instafix it, but it's hard to say when that might happen. The last couple days have been just terrible, I hope it'll at least go back to a normal smoke level first. This **** is not healthy.

I think there's a pretty good chance they will, yes.

Why not just bring a laptop?

I use moneybookers m8y,to withdraw 2.
But you cant deposit using moneybookers from here to a gambling site,mb pick up ur ip.

Limits for atms i think have gone up to 20k baht a day, think it depends on the bank you use tbh and ur country of origin. (its at least 15k a day for me,im from the uk)

As for agencies for a nice resort, try agoda and asia rooms, what i use.

Hope this helps.

Best to go there in person. Unless they just got massively booked up for some odd reason in bake season, they are gonna be a lot closr to 1K/night.

Tks for the weblink though.

EDIT: Ok yeah, that 2K comes from a not recently updated website. They deffo 1K in you walk in. So for anyone coming from afar, make the call and book over phone.

If you are in PHuket just show up in person.
Any idea how much a month would be here? (Said 40k on the website) Thoughts on staying there for a month? No internet by the looks of it?

Also you say that was your 2nd recommendation, what was your first?

obviously your withdrawal limits are not up to thai banks but the limits you have set to your accounts in your home country

most atm's here allow max 20k per transaction, bangkok bank (blue atm's) allow 25k and ayuttthahhththahthaha (yellow atm's) allow 30k per transaction

I've also read that if you go inside the bank you can withdraw more per one transaction which might be better for you if have some sort of flat fee issued by the bank in your home country to make the total fees less

for me the cheapest way easily is to wire money to the kasikorn(green bank) account
