Whats the name of this club in bangkok I was drunk when i was there and havent found it since.. Downstair it had electric tables which had nice pictures of trees or lakes and when you touched it the picture made waves from the point you touched it. Upstair had some cozy leather sofas or chairs.. My memory and description is bit blurry.. but if this rings a bell pls tell

IMO the nicest hotel is Peninsula, the Oriental is of course the most famous hotel in BKK, best service, etc.

I wouldn't stay by the riverside if I were you (Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula, Shangri-La). Just find what looks nice to you on agoda.com or kayak and book it.

damn so there are like a ton of hotels to choose from in bkk on tripadvisor! Me and 2 other 2+2ers are flying into bkk on the 6th of march and are looking for a nice kinda baller hotel to stay in for the first few days until we head to phuket. I see someone gave a great link on the more expensive hotels, but can someone just recommend a nice place for $100 or less a night? I've been looking online for like 30 mins and just cant decide on anything! help is appreciated as always, can't wait to get out there and meet some of the people that have been helping me organize this trip!

PS-3 brd apts are cool if thats an option.

Yes if value for money is important I highly recommend any room in President Palace - or one of the suites in Grand President. Soi 11 is awesome for a few days but grates on you after a couple of weeks. Heaps of awesome food there thought both western and Thai and extremely central.

If you really want to ball out without spending $300/nt+, stay at one of the starwood properties, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit or Le Meridian, maybe Plaza Athenee. Use promo code Z3R/Z3H to bring down the rate on a 3 night stay.

I am in thailand now have a place in kata beach. My problem is I only have the place for 3 days and it is booked. The internet is also broken but i think they are fixing that.

i am looking for something for 3 weeks that would be a nice 2 bedroom condo for ~$1k

Just had a look online, sick deal going for President Palace atm from their website, definitely amazing value. Note the rates are inclusive of tax and service charge so it's super cheap. i stuck mine in one half of my suitcase (samsung weighs about 12kg). it just about fit without the stand on it.

you could ship it with DHL or something but you are quite likely to get hammered with customs charges then.
