This gotta be because of slow internet, right? I have this problem even when I play in an internet cafe that usually have good speed.

I am starting to believe that stick is better than ADSL because so ****** many people are sharing the same cable.

What is your opinion?j I am a novis on internet.
I am no tech pro so correct me if i am wrong but i believe there are two important parameters to internet speed/quality. First and most obvious is download speed which is important when downloading stuff like videos/torrents/youtube etc.
But there is also something called lag/ping/latency which is important when one need instantaneous response like for poker software, chat & remote desktop etc. Don't know how to explain it but I guess you can compare the latency to the speed of the signal and download speed to the size of the signal.

Not sure what is consider grindable and whats is not but it should preferably be below 300 m seconds. Over 700-1000 m seconds is very bad and will give you problems when grinding. You can check it here http://www.speedtest.net/. Obviously the location of the server matters so pick a location where you think the poker servers a located.

Surprisingly I often find air cards has less latency than adsl. Dont ask me why cause I have no clue. Maybe others have different experiences.

I agree with you that air cards seem to have less latency than adsl.

When entering thailand do you have to show that you have booked a flight out of thailand before your visa expires?

I've never had to. But this sort of thing is random. Depends on the particular immigration officer you get and how much they like/hate the look of you.

Usually if they ask, I just tell them I will fly home from Malaysia and they have never had any problem with that.

Thanks for reply, i plan on heading to australia after thailand, i have a 1 year working holiday visa. Is there a rule enforced in australia that i have to show a flight leaving the country when my visa expires? This is what the travel agent is telling me but i didn't see any rule like this when i applied, it just mentioned that i have sufficient funds to pay for a flight home in my bank a/c? not sure if travel agent is just trying to get me to book as many flights as possible through them.

Maybe someone of you do sports betting in Thailand, too ?

When you do it at Betfair, do you use a VPN or how do you get access for it ?

Because i think Betfair will close your account when you try to log in from a country where gambling is illegal ?

Thanks in advance

No VPN required for the sportsbook, just login and bet as per usual

I did this regularly earlier this year with zero problems

Yooo has anyone bought an unlocked smartphone in Thailand and then tried to use it in Canada with like Rogers/Telus etc. and have it work just dandy? I am thinking of investing in a new phone and don't want to get back to Canada and have it crap out on me.

how hard is it to play on non-US sites when you go to thailand? (assuming you are from the US).

What would be involved in opening an account on these sites, getting money into it, and gettign money out of it?

If you got a tourist visa at the consulate in your country you don't need a return ticket. I flew in here on a one-way ticket. Officially you need an onward ticket if you arrive at the airport without visa, but most likely you're not going to have a problem.
