I'm going to go to KL, Malaysia for a visa in a few days..anyone go there recently? I think I'm only applying for one..so should be ok from what I've read. Can just got get another one in 3 months time.. is ok for me.. will need a border crossing break by then..free Thai visas until May 2010 from what I understand..

The 20+hour bus ride to Laos vs. 1 hour flight to KL. for about 1500baht more seems alright for me..

Any comments on KL?

ive been staying in patong, phuket for a week and starting to get a bit sick of it. are there other places in phuket to stay which has good nightlife?

Malaysian food is actually really good and cheap. I haven't been to KL but I ate very well in Penang.

You can stay pretty cheap in KL, in the Chinatown or Sentral area there are a few cheap hotels - nothing special but good enough for a couple of day visa run.

Food is cheap but the nightlife sucks. Take your laptop and polish up on your starcraft skills or something. As above malaysian food is cheap and good, due to the mulitcultural nature of Malaysia you can get everything from Indian to Nasi Pedang to hokkien food and it's all cheap.

good to know thai fitness centers follow the same mantra as US gyms. It will be just like home, so to speak. Anyway possible to barfine the aerobics instructors?

Also like to know if any Americans have reopened their partypoker account in LOS. I miss the pawty pokah experience!

hi everyone, i m relatively new to 2p2 and my english kinda suxs but i would like to ask u great ppl some things about thailand.

first of all how much money do u think i need to move from europe to thailand and survive there like 3 months to make it my place without having to stress myself about how much i got left?

is online poker legal there and how much does a decent house cost if i m with 3-5 ppl ( if i can find them ) and also good internet for everyone?

the thing is that i want to move there to make good money and live cheap i m a very good poker player who plays online only.

it depends on what you mean by "good nightlife" i really enjoy the Kata Beach area, but i motorbike to Patong, Rawai, Karon, and P-town all the time for nightlife. Kata Night Bazaar area is like a more laid back Bang La, a lot less crowded, but in the same vein. I think the Rawai discos are some of the more fun discos on the island.
