Anybody watching this guy video tapes/blogs? who ever is unfamiliar with him he basically just travels around SE asia and does what he wants. But his videos are cool because they highlight so much of the fun he has and he video tapes like every hotel, club, beach, restaurant, and cool spots he goes to. But the videos show so much more than just the abundance of girls. I thought it would be helpful for people considering traveling to Asia to link this, because these videos also helped me in my initial research. Arghhh 4 months+ untill I get back to bangkok is too long.

How many of you own motorbikes vs. rent? I've been looking into buying one but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

If you're planning on being here a while just go ahead and buy one. I was paying 3500 / month renting a worn down Honda but I bought a new one for like 45k a year or so ago

I bought mine aswell at 45k and it's starting to work out +ev because I've been here a while now. I've seen motorbikes for sale as cheap as 10k though so if you get one like that then you will be saving a lot of baht over the months.

Are there any English-language universities in Bangkok where I could get a graduate degree I could actually put on a resume?

I bought mine couple of weeks after coming here since i knew i was going to be here for while, paid 53k for a new airblade. Now it's been 14 months so I would have paid 56k if i had rented one (airblades rent out for about 4k/month without much haggling)

if you do the math you don't even have to be here that long for buying to be +ev even if you can't sell the bike 100% of the time

Consider Chulalongkorn, ABAC and Mahidol.

If they aren't good enough, you won't find any in Thailand.

Don't know if they're any good on a resume in the western world though.

certainly good if you're getting jobs in asia, though. the big universities are reasonably recognized in the west. A buddy of mine has been doing research on this for when he gets out of the army with his G.I. Bill, and it seems like price value for education the top schools are pretty good, especially if you're planning on studies where asian experience has value, or in asia.

What do you guys think about Lagoon Garden/Boat Lagoon Phuket?

How far is it from the nightlife? We are four guys going down to phuket from early feb to may. Got an offer for a house there but scared the place might be to quiet.

it is far from everything. even phuket town is 10km away

i would suggest you come stay in a hotel for a few days and decide after that where you want to stay. plenty of options for all kinds of stayers

I lived right across the street from the boat lagoon, its far away frm everything and the location sucks. Was also super expensive for what it was

Just ask the girl, they are not going to lie in this kind of things 99.99% of the time. Also most of the time is paranoia, if it looks like a girl is a girl.

The hands and feet (usually) give it away

Just ask them, they don't mind. Probably dangerous for them to try to deceive a guy anyways cause they have no way of knowing how the guy will react. He might become violent if he's homophobic enough.

listen to the voice, look at the shoulders. those are the easiest giveaways IMO. also, in general, ladyboys choose western names while thai girls have the usual thai short names. ladyboys play with their hair and check their makeup way more often than real girls. keep those tips in mind and you can be in blissful ignorance when some dude is slobbin' your knob.

Check out number 58 in Kings III Ladyboy go-go) in Paptong

He\She\It is the most beautiful woman I've seen, having been in Thailand for 5 weeks

And if you are adventurous enough to go there ......check your bill......it appears ladyboys' have a poor grasp of simple arithmetic !

The ladyboys probably dont mind. Not a good idea to ask a girl if she is a ladyboy though. Talking from personal experience here. It cost me a kick in the nuts...
