You set your own hours, don't have to worry about commuting, and you get paid in Western-style amounts.

well I was assuming 5 tabling and each table doing 60 hands per hour....

Dunno I havent played LHE for so long I have no idea how many tables you can play at once.

Somehow I missed the $1.5k+$1.5k part the first time. I mean if you can make that every month why would you waste your time teaching english?

$3k a month is more than enough to live confortably here

I was in BKK earlier this year for 2 weeks and had a blast. i mainly hung out in the Khao San Rd area. I'm thinking of heading back next year to live for a while, teaching english and playing poker.

I will probably try and find a place in the Sukumvit area. Quick question, besides the backpacker areas like Khao San where there were plenty of western female tourists, are there many western female expats in BKK? Around Sukumvit etc? I didn't meet any when i was there last time...

yea im definately looking into it what do you thinks a good amount of days 1-2? I want to do a jungle trek or something but not totally sure.

There's a lot to do here but you can fairly easily fit in a jungle trek, a days sight seeing and a nights partying in like 3-4 days.
I did a 3 day jungle trek and it was awesome. I'm not sure what the 1-2 day ones are like though. Give me a shout if you end up here

There's a lot of Western Chicks in Western Countries I hear.

Once you get to Thailand you won't really be that worried about the lack of Western chicks imo.

Usually people drive around looking for places. If you go through an agent you will never get competitive prices

I'm using a CAT aircard for grinding on and it's been fine so far. hardly any D/C's and downloading is fast enough. I've also got a standard ADLS TT&T line installed in the house that I hardly ever use. That's also been grinded on and seemed fine. fwiw that is it cheapest package you can get through TT&T so the more expensive ones should be decent.
