I was reading thaivisa for you about thai embassy in hanoi and I think you would atleast have to ask first what sort of tickets/travel plans they require if you want a double entry. it sounds like their lines for giving multiple entry visas vary a lot and it might become a head ache.

you should get single entry from both locations easily though
What do you mean? I don't exactly udnerstand what you're trying to tell me.

A) Should I not leave Thailand?
B) If I do, should I do anything prior?
C) Should I tear my Visa out or something?

Is it much cheaper to get a metered taxi? And how would i go about this after arriving in Phuket airport at around 9pm?

Anyone know rough prices for this?
as soon as you step outside of the airport turn right and you should see a taxi-meter stand in front of you, should cost you something like 350-500baht to Kata. Can't confirm 100% but i am almost positive it will still be open at 9pm.

a "limousine" (basically a taxi without the paintjob) will cost you around 700-800thb

well you said you are leaving in a few days so i figured that your stamp expires soon or that you have to leave the country for some other reason.

what date do you have when you entered the country (dates in the visa don't matter since you have used it already, there is just a lone stamp in the passport telling you how long you can stay). and just to make sure: did you actually have a visa or are you in the country with the 30 day visa exempt stamp?

if you came here with tourist visa (giving you a 60 day stamp) you can extend it at immigration for 1900 baht. that gives you 30 more days. after that you have to leave and (if you want) get another visa since arriving by land/air only gives you 15/30 days stay

C) oh, didn't see this question so i guess you actually have a visa. NO, don't tear it out or do anything

yup, metered taxi should be closer to 500 to kata imo. not 100% sure though

Just go to Vietnam, go to thai embassy there, and get a visa

that's all you have to do sir!

but I wonder, don't you get an automatic 30 days visa stamp without getting a tourist visa?

Cheers.. the taxis are real cheap aren't they haha. I think the transfers done by the hotels are a bit more than double that, although that's still damn cheap when compared to prices for that kind of journey here in England. It might be better to organise a hotel transfer just so they know when you're coming i guess, but i'll see.

Thanks again for the help!

I saw the thread about the guys living in Phuket,Thailand. The house and view was baller. I am seriously thinking of moving there sometime,or at least taking a vacation there. How many "bahts"? = $1 USD?

Ok, my bad... I only have the 30 day exempt thing (didn't get any paperwork before flying in). Does this allow multiple entries?

Just to explain;
- Arrived via plane
- Have whatever got stapled into my passport there, no previous paperwork
- Am leaving flying to Vietnam in 2-3 days.
- Am likely returning to Vietnam via bus from Cambodia
- Not sure if I will be able to do this with the 30-day exempt thing I got from the airport customs

I'm sorry I suck at explaining this!

When you fly back in they'll give you another 30 days. If you take a bus in you'll get 15. If you wanna stay for longer than that, go to the embassy in Phnom Penh, Hanoi, or Ho Chi Minh City and get a single entry visa which is good for 60 days plus 30 day extension.

no worries lippy, you are not the first one who confuses the visa exempt stamp and tourist visa

the paper you got stapled in your passport is for the immigration to take away when you leave thailand. it is not a visa, it is a departure card. the immigration took the arrival part for their archives when you came here.

if you are staying here for longer i would definitely suggest getting the visa from one of the embassies.

yo guys i need a roommate

our third roommate is leaving next week so me and my friend need someone to replace him quickly

the appartment is like 200sqm with a huge balcony, 3 bedrooms and a big living room, its in the last floor of this building: http://www.piyavan.com , tho i dont think the actual apt is listed on the website. it's just in front of the BTS station Ari.

no deposit needed, total rent is 47k baths per month plus electricity (which was sth like 10k last month)

we need someone to move in as soon as possible, you can come visit anytime or we can show you the apartment on webcam

contact me by mail/msn at baltimore64@hotmail.fr if ur interested

btw if it matters my roommate is Farid Meraghni who came second at EPT Warsaw a few years ago

480 to Kata with meter. Whatever time you arrive, meter taxi isn't closing until the last flight has arrived and everyone been shipped to wherever.

I think there are only like 10 2p2ers in Phuket these days. There's a group of limit players living in a big house together but I don't know what stakes they play. Myself and some other small stakes NL players are scattered around the island. I believe the stakerange is like nl25-nl400.
When are you going?

People are supporting themselves in Thailand at 25NL?

I don't think anyone's playing 25nl but it wouldn't surprise me if you could support yourself over here. Maybe not in phuket

So I'm coming to Thailand in August, and staying for a month.

Do you folks recommend starting in Bangkok and heading south, or the other way around?

I know Bangkok has a reputation of being a really hectic city, and part of me wants to avoid that stress at first, but the other part of me says that I should get myself in the mix of it all right away.

Thoughts?
