It depends what country you are from obv. If you are Canadian, English or Australian then you have a huge chance because girls from those countries are massive whores, whereas Americans are a lot more conservative in my experience.

Hey

Me and my gf are gonna be in Phuket for about a week at the end of August (after travelling East Asia for 6 weeks beforehand) but we're still deciding where to stay and what to do there.

We don't really wanna be in a crazy touristy place, although I've heard that much of Phuket is like that now. We just wanna chill for a bit by a fairly quiet beach in a cheapish hotel (nothing too expensive, but nothing too cheap), go to a few nice bars and restaurants, and do some sightseeing and activities too (my gf really wants to ride an elephant somewhere, although i'm not sure how much this is gonna cost, or where to do it)

Can anyone recommend anything, or anywhere that will suit us in Phuket? Or are we better off going somewhere else in Thailand. Like Krabi or somewhere?

Phuket's been pretty quiet for the past 2 months. slowest low season for a long time (or that's what i read). if you don't go stay in patong(with gf i don't see any reason you would) i don't think you will suffer from too many tourists

I haven't been on a elephant ride so i have no clue how much it costs but you find the places either between patong and karon or between kata and nai harn.

I am sure you will have enough to do in Phuket for a week

Better off in Samui for that imo. They have a beach and elephant treks within 5 minutes of each other.

^Ditto for Kata beach in Phuket though.

Any quiet beaches in Phuket atm where the sea is relatively calm?

there is at least 4 elephant trekking places in Phuket that I can think of. ive been on the one that is between kata and the view point and that was 1000 baht per person and really good. These are also 5 mins from the beach so I dont think you need to go to samui.

Just stay in kata and avoid going to patong too much and you'll have a good time

Hey guy's
I'm moving to Bangkok soon and was wondering How many poker players
actually live their.....
How is the internet connection and what are the advantages and disadvantages of life as a poker player in Bkk?
Also, those players that do currently live their, would you have any interest in meeting up maybe once a month for a night of drinks and food.
If you are interested send me a PM or post here and I'll get back to you.

look forward to your comments and maybe meeting a few of you.

Hey

Thanks for the help guys... we'd been looking at hotels in Kata anyway, so we probably will be heading there then. I'm sure I'll have some more questions in the next couple of weeks - before we head out to Hong Kong, so hopefully you guys can help again

I just realized I did something stupid... I didn't get a multiple entry Visa. I am leaving the country for 8-10 days in a few days, then returning. I'm not exactly sure what I should do? Is this a problem?

Fk.

where are you going?

you can get another visa from almost every country. it might be more difficult at some countries than others though. from thailand's neighbours the only place you can get a double entry tourist visa is vientiane, laos. other, neighbouring countries only issue single entries

so the best thing to do for americans/europeans is to get max value from the embassy in your home country and get a triple entry. or as brit you can get a one year non-immigrant visa from hull easily. they probably do postals still too but don't ask me about those

You can get a single entry (or double if you're lucky) from Phnom Penh

you can only get single entries from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I tried to get a double entry from there 3 months ago but they said they are only giving out singles.

I was reading thaivisa for you about thai embassy in hanoi and I think you would atleast have to ask first what sort of tickets/travel plans they require if you want a double entry. it sounds like their lines for giving multiple entry visas vary a lot and it might become a head ache.

you should get single entry from both locations easily though

Anyone know how to go about getting a taxi from Phuket airport to Kata beach? It looks like the hotels can sort it out for you, but i guess it will be more expensive (although i don't know how much).

Is it much cheaper to get a metered taxi? And how would i go about this after arriving in Phuket airport at around 9pm?

Anyone know rough prices for this?
