Bring your laptop and buy a monitor out here once you get settled.

It doesn't get cold (in BKK or the islands at least), but bring some jeans for going out.

You could get something like TEFL but I doubt you'll do it because Thailand brings out the laziness in people.

When people are slightly horny at home, they go out to a bar or club and try to score. You can do the same thing here, but the bar or club will be full of hookers anyway. So you might as well save some time and money and go straight to the hooker part, no?

The key though is that the hookers don't act like hookers, they act like a girlfriend that you rent. Which makes it a lot easier, especially for people who never visit prostitutes at home.

The vast majority of people would never think about visiting a hooker at home, but most of them do when they come to Thailand, it's just different.

Not in Bangkok maybe, but in Pattaya or Samui it's definitely possible.

my friends and i are heading there in about a month. i've been thinking about just taking a hiking bag, or something like this-



and using a motorbike to travel around.

how dumb is this idea? would the bag be too bulgy to take with me on a motorbike? (ive never ridden one). would you lug around a bag like this instead of just taking a typical suitcase around? sorry if this question has been answered/too stupid to answer.

Planning on travelling around Thailand on a motorbike if you have never ridden one before is pretty much the stupidest thing you could ever do.

As for the bag, I really doubt you need one so big.

The problem with backpacks is if you want something from the bottom you have to take everything out. Just bring a typical rolling suitcase and you'll be fine. As far as motorbikes go, rent one for a few days when you are in a place without much traffic (Phuket, Samui, etc). You can learn to drive one in about 10 minutes.

Driving on the roads here is really dangerous, especially on the highways. Unless you've driven here before and have loads of biking experience I'd say it's not a good idea. I bet it's a whole lot of fun though. I <3 driving here, It's just scary as hell sometimes
