Any suggestions?
Out of the cities I've visited I like Makati the most (by far). I'll give details in a new thread in the next couple days.

Arriving in phuket late tomorrow. pm me your number so we can meet up. i'll be bouncing between kata and patong. I think the best thing to do is go to regular/semi regular clubs first, then go to patong if all else fails.

Does anyone use Neteller/Moneybookers cards to get cash in Thailand?

Im sick of paying USD-AUD-BAHT double exchange rates, Im looking for a way to withdraw poker chz more easily.

yes I'm using neteller card to withdraw cash in Thailand

note: withdrawal rates are pretty high due to following

1. lame neteller exchange usd to bht rate
2. lame 6$ cost for every withdrawal (neteller card fee)
3. max 25.000bht withdraw at once (only at Bangkok Bank ATM, all rest are max 20.000bht)
4. + 150bht cost of withdrawal charged by ATM machine

You can avoid the 150 baht by using Bank of Ayudhaya ATMS fwiw.

I didn't realise neteller charged $6 per withdrawal as well, that's pretty fierce.

I guess I'll look into HSBC.

but then it's 20.000bht max I assume? then I wonder if it's better to pay 150bht extra to be able to withdraw 25K or not since the 6$ is the same on both sums

I withdrew from couple ipoker sites directly to my kasikorn bank account. try researching that options with your bank/pokersite

25k = $732 + $6 + $4.4 = $742.4 1.4% in fees
20k = $586 + $6 = $592 1% in fees

i was reading from thaivisa that you can go inside the bank to the counter and withdraw larger sums through there. dunno if this is possible with neteller card though

Lessu you have an account with a Thai bank? I was under the impression you needed to have a work visa to get an account here..

no. you can open an account at kasikorn(the green bank). you just need your passport and an address and a person in thailand and his/her phone number. they didnt confirm the address in any way

Apparently all of the atm machines charge 100baht anyway, it's just alot of them now charge 150baht but tell you about it before. so we're actually only out 50 baht. Anyone confirm this is true? I've been told by two different people

Cut the khrap!

Only people treated like rockstars in thailand are real rockstars and actors,etc!

If at the end of your rockstar experience mamasan say to pay bill , and you pay , you just like the rest of us, regular johns. If mamasan say the house will take care of your check bin then you really are a rockstar!

If mamasan say pick any lady and no barfine you maybe a rockstar, if she say pay 600 baht, then you a customer!

Ps. 10s dont go drooling over anyone, you go to them and hope they take you

Only ones you need to fight away are the ugly big ones who have a hard time attracting paying customers.

With the bars operating way below normal one would think girls would just throw themselves at just anyone, they dont! Girl to guy ratio is horrendous at the moment. I dont know how they survive.

no, they didnt charge 100 baht before. if they did there would be a warning for that like there are in most atm's now about the 150 baht fee.

they announced the fee in april and started doing that on 17th of april but i guess the yellow bank(wont even bother trying to write the name) is not doing it yet.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.,.....

i may have to concede on this rockstar treatment sh...iitt.

last night i saw what you guys mean, a bar provided security to a "rockstar", they had to escort him to the nearest atm so he could pay his full check bin tab.

he mustve lost track of the ladies drinks he was buying, you know you buy my friend drink, then that friend has friend that is also thirsty, etc.

these bars are so much fun! and if you are so inclined you can have sex with almost anyone of them!
