I see this a lot too, and I think it makes okay sense. I think a lot of not so attractive guys find themselves more comfortable around the girls that aren't super hot. It looks and feels more natural. It adds to the fantasy that it's a real relationship. If you see some gorgeous Thai girl walking around with some wildly disgustingly fat farang you know she is in a relationship with him for the money, she's a hooker, or some combination of the two. The wildly disgustingly fat farang know this and the wildly disgustingly fat farang know other people know this.

I need to find people to fill the room in my apartment on sukhumvit soi 15 (bangkok). I rented the apartment for 1 year.
So I would really like to write the ownership on someone elses name. And that someone can do the same later, when plans change.
Anyways the apartment has 3 bedrooms, is 250+m2, baller and in a good area where everything you need is close.
One month rent is 60k baht +direct line internet, +maid, +electricity.

if you only want to get one room for short period, then I ask 1k baht per day, what is a really good price for the area and for this kind of apartment.

They are cheaper than hot ones. A lot of white dudes in Thailand aren't living baller lifestyles on poker money. Many of them are trying to live here on a pension or some kind of allowance as low as $600 us a month.

You can't afford 2500 baht a day on that kind of income, you can't even afford 1000 baht a day.

Besides attraction is relative thing. Most Thais think every Isaan girl is ugly because they have Dark Skin and Khmer features. The Thai ideal of beauty is light skin and Chinese features. If you go to the high class escort places and the soapies that cater to Thais all the girls are from Chang Mai/Bangkok.

On the other hand most westerners find the darker skinned Isaan girls exotic, sure there are quite a few ugly ones but there are also lots of hot ones that the Thais still wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole because they are seen as low-class purely on a racial basis.

The apartment has 3 bedrooms and is 250m2. obv you can go take an apartment in nana, or maybe you should go and take a room in Rajah mansion. There are many places you can get a room for 15k or so for a month. Also you can move out from the city, maybe can get a cheap room in Isaan and continue to grind nl10.... many options.

First of all the rent only is 60k baht, then add electricity what is really expencive since 3 bedrooms and living room have aircons. Then add cable tv cost, 4gb private line internet, maid and so on. Sukhumvit soi 15 is a center of the town. Total with all the cost i pay close to 80k+ a month, but it is for 3 way, so its not so expencive for each person. I think here you can get a lot more than in your nana apartments also.

For me personally its not big money, but one room is just empty at the moment.

Good luck all, and wish you happy times in thailand... avoid nits like the one above.

if my name was on the lease and i was stuck for 2/3 of cost id try to make it sound like a good deal too......lol.

really depends on the location, prolly not a ripoff since its pretty big, but then again for a 1year contract theres ALOT of apts to be found, though most people coming arnt very eager to sign 1year contracts though.
oh and the apt looks decent but baller might be stretching it.

if you take the 1k / day example from bkkdude, that's 30k/month

if its not a good deal for you bkkdude, too expencive or too center of the city, then its cool, you dont have to be interested. Some people live in 300k per month willas, some live in 6k baht apartments, different tastes and wallets and many other reasons....

People can see the pictures, they can come and have a look, they know the price, where is the trick ? They can stay one day or 10, up to them. If no one wants then no one wants, life goes on.
