Well, I'm going back to Thailand in 2 months. And my schedule is to wake up at 5am and grind from that.

I'd be completely ruined without having a schedule, lol.

I usually wake up at 11 AM grind 2-3 hours, then grind again at 10 PM and go to bed at 4 AM. Midday tends to be pretty slow for this timezone.

What sites are you getting most of your action at 5AM?

Wake up 5am to grind MTTs on the american sites

I know people that grind tourneys later on starting either 10am, 5pm or even midnight (latter being to play Euro peak schedule)

You can pretty much do whatever you want and it comes down to if you're a night owl or early riser, at least for MTTs (not sure how CG action looks like but you can probably find a game somewhere at any time of day I imagine)

Yea, and many countries that needed a proper visa to get into the country (like mine) now can do visa exemption and just get 60 days on arrival. Also that digital nomad visa that allows you to stay up to 180 days per visit.

The renewal of Thai Elite at the same price as before was not due to the taxing money from abroad thing but because of this new posture being adopted so they tried to do one last money grab before implementing these new measures.

They finally realized that (most) farangs bringing money into the country are not a problem and relaxed the whole visa thing, pretty ****ing nice.

See you all next year in BKK!

You get 60 days now not 30 and can extend it to 90 days. I use an agent in Pattaya for that to avoid spending a whole day on it and getting the TM30 form

Hopefully they let us do visas online one day as it's still quite tiring sitting in the van haha but can't complain too much

Presumably I could fly to Siem Reap then taxi to the border might try that next time

I have a guy based in Vietnam that needs to fly in everytime a certain client is in town and usually stays 30-40 days per visit. Last month was his 3rd visit this year and got a few remarks from immigration. He's Russian so origin of passport could factor in but it's still ****ing Thai immigration. Enjoy it while it lasts but could change overnight.

It's SEA, everything can change overnight depending on which side of the bed the president/dictator/supreme leader woke up on, but this is a step in the right direction. Besides specific cases (I'm sure they'll still give some **** to the Chang tank top farang with dreadlocks when he flies in for the 3rd time in the year), what this all means is a change in the stance immigration is taking towards "our" kind of immigrant and thats great.

Yeah but just never ceases to amaze me how logic can just fly out the window and they can one day reverse these policies on a whim at the detriment to the entire economy. Or those immigration officers. Remember before covid people with legit visas from embassies abroad were getting turned away by the 300bt a day immigration officers?
I keep my hopes up but know some dumb xenophobe is going to get in charge again at some point.

End my boomer Thai visa rant

I thought they introduced new exempt visa when you get 60 days and can extend to another 60 days.

I'd be kinda ticked if I were still single, but considering I have a dog and wife (w/a weak passport) now, I'm glad to have gotten Thai Elite and just be done with any hassle.

I'd never fly in anymore, had too many close calls. I'd rather fly to Laos then come in over the land border, found an agent that has drivers in Laos who drive you through the checkpoints and know all the border guys so there's never any questions.

This rule change is mainly for land borders, technically there was no set limit at airports, it was just at their discretion.

Any chance you could refer me to that guy? I'll be doing a border run by the end of the year from Chiang Mai.

And you're right, the extension seems to be only 30 days according to the WashingtonDC Thai Embassy website.

Edit: I just remembered when I was in Thailand 5 years ago, I flew to Vientiane from Bangkok and they didn't want me to let in without the return ticket. I had to buy it right there on my phone 10 minutes before the gate closed.

Or is now Laos more lax in terms of letting you fly in without a return ticket?

Line ID 300077, guy called Dirk

I've been to Laos without return ticket, an airline once asked me why I didn't have a Laos visa booked in advance, but they still let me fly
