Almost all of them, maybe not Party?
You can get a 5 year elite visa for 600k THB ($17k or so)
^ That.
Online poker - where ever you want. Live poker - not Thailand.
Yes.
Depends on your lifestyle, you can do anything between like $800 and $5k.

Elite visa is an option but not the only one, can come with a multiple entry tourist visa that can last up to 8-9 months if you play it right and then switch to education or volunteer visa for example.

All sites available besides Party and Bodog.

And afaik no more covid related requirements to enter the country.

Speaking of covid restrictions, what's the deal with masks in BKK? are they compulsory anywhere or can go into malls, ride BTS, etc without one?

Can't think of anywhere that they would be compulsory but 90% of locals still wearing them. Same in CM I'm assuming?

Yea most locals wear them here and some farangs too. I was asking cuz I thought I read somewhere (maybe Bangkok Post?) that in BKK they were still compulsory in some places. Great to know they're not.

That had been in the case for some time after general mask wearing was lifted, but it was discontinued IIRC in December or January. Now only "recommended". In practice not required anywhere a farang would normally venture. Maybe still in hospitals and govt offices, that could be, dunno

personally, i was wearing a mask in bangkok on the bts and in most of the malls (except in lower sukhumvit). this was december 22 and january 23.
i don't have a problem with wearing one (especially if it's just for half an hour) and if 95% of people around me wear one (like they do on the bts or in most malls), i do so as well.

Pretty sure masks are only needed if banging a hooker missionary, based on latest WHO data.

Hi there,

after moving to Thailand a couple years ago I decided to finally reactivate my poker career. I already verified my Stars-Account to my current (thai) address so fortunately that is no issue any longer. What I still try to figure out though is how to manage deposits/withdrawals ...
As Google hasn't been of much help I hope someone here can give me some advice

What I try to accomplish:

As I still have funds on Stars I would love to use part of them to open and fund accounts with ACR and GG. Neteller would be my first option as I have used it in the past with no issues but I'm not sure whether I can move funds this way or - further down - make withdrawals to my thai debit card?

What I'm stucked with/what I learned so far:

- Because I left Europe permanently I had to shut down my old Neteller-Account and open a new (thai) one. Today I tried to fund my new account through my Kbank (Kasikorn) debit card but several attempts failed. I don't know if this happened because I marked them as eligible for online gambling or if it is a temporary issue.
So it would be great to know how to proceed (like try again later or talk to my bank or just give up because it's no longer possible to go this route with a thai debit card for instance)?

- As I would love to include ACR AND GG/Natural 8 in the near future I wonder if a thai Neteller Account would be generally useful for that purpose or if I should find an alternative way. I understand that opening a Bitkub-Account and using Crypto might work?

Would be great if someone here could give me some advice. Thanks a lot, k.

When I was in BKK recently, masks were encouraged because of smog and air quality reaching unhealthy levels.

Neteller works for withdraws to kbank but not deposits. I havent been able to find a way to fund Neteller other than by withdraw from poker sites. You can find someone to trade thb for Neteller. Wish you would of posted yesterday as I just withdrew a decent amount. Have 200 EU left in Neteller, pm if that helps at all.

They've got those privacy credit cards now. Basically just glorified virtual cards. Maybe something to try.

Happy to hear, it should work at least for withdrawals this way. So the main issue left is to get the initial funding on Neteller to get things going as I assume Stars won't let me withdraw to the new account without depositing first (for verification). Will try to figure it out later today when I have more time. And thanks for the offer, maybe that could be an avenue. I'll keep it in mind.

Do you mean the K-Web Shopping Card? That's the only virtual card I could find with Kasikorn so far. But I will try to find out more later, when I have time.

Thank you both for your input. Much appreciated and gives me hope to get thing solved.

A quick follow up:
- Managed to deposit from my kbank debit card into Neteller (by disabling online gambling) and waiting now to finish the verification process. Once that's done I should be eligible for Neteller to Neteller transfers, I hope.

So yes, I would be definitely interested in your proposal, @GoinGreen (I think I just need to make the minimum deposit to Stars to verify my new Neteller account so I would need probably way less then 200 Euro to do so). Unfortunately I have to be a little more active on 2+2 before I can send DMs, so I hope I can come back to you later once I met the requirements. Would be awesome if that works out and finally do the trick

doesn't disabling online gambling defeat the purpose of your Neteller?

I hope not. I just marked this particular transaction from my thai debit card as not eligible for online gambling, otherwise it wouldn't have gone through. So I won't be able to use this money for funding pokersites. But anything else outside this particular amount shouldn't be effected I would think.
A card deposit seemed to be the only option at this point to start the verification process which should give me more options in the future once my account has been verified and upgraded to True Neteller I understand. So I hope I'm still on the right track ...

This is true, but cloth masks are mostly useless against air pollution, you'd need an N95 or better.

I think my strat will be N95 on bad pollution days and cloth masks only in crowded public spaces (BTS, but probably not malls). My girlfriend never stopped wearing cloth masks on public transport after COVID and she hasn't been sick in years, whereas pre-masking she'd always get sick a couple times a year.

I was thinking something like this but doubt Neteller would allow it.

Thanks for the clarification. And yes, I agree, probably not. Would have to find something similar to this for Europe/Thailand first anyway - not sure if I'm ready for another challenge

Anyone changed their country on pokerstars to Thailand here? What did they ask for if so, I heard it was difficult to get accepted here on stars. Have now a 1 month rental contract but doubt it will be enough ?

I just went through the process about a month ago by sending screenshots of my passport, bank statement, phone bill and rental invoice via email to Stars. Got cleared within less then 24 hours. According to their Website you need an actual utility bill and a bank statement, and of course a government-issued photo ID.

Thanks, talked with a agent from stars in live support who said you just needed one of these things, it seemed a bit too easy.

"make things easier for you, we’ve created a list of some alternative documents that should be readily available. ToPlease send us a clear color copy or digital photo of one of the following:

Utility bill (gas, water, electricity, landline, internet, TV bill)
Tax or government letter
Insurance documents
Bank statement. We can accept all bank statements as valid proof of address except from online banks such as Revolut, Monese, Monzo, Atom, N26, Pockit Ltd, etc.
Financial letter
Employer letter or payslip
Rental agreement
Social security letter
Mobile phone bill
Residence certificate"
