Well, if it is on the list of approved flights by the government of Thailand then it is approved, no matter who you book through.

Yes. I'm at the Radisson Suites Sukhumvit. it is 45000 Baht for the cheapest room.

How much was STV?

$100 CAD

Do you need the 20K in Thai bank before you apply for it?

No, a Canadian bank, I applied from within Canada. Maybe you can use a Thai bank, not sure.

Do you have a list of recommended Covid insurance companies in Canada?

I used a Thai agent, Mr. Prakan(https://misterprakan.com/en/pass/thailand-pass). You don't have to use a Canadian insurance company. I don't know how his price compares to other insurance companies so you may want to check around first.

Congrats on making it back btw
It took me about 3 weeks to get everything in order. A few days to apply for the criminal record check, a few days to send my passport and visa application to Vancouver and get it back, etc. etc.

Here's a link to the Thai Consulate Vancouver, with the steps required to get a Special Tourist Visa:

fwiw: requirements differ quite a lot between countries. so just check the website of your local royal thai embassy to see what is needed from you and what visa options are available.

in most cases it's imho the better solution to either come with visa excemption or do a tourist visa nowadays (which doesn't require background checks etc).
then when you're here, you can very easily do a covid-extension for 60 days for 1900 thb. or you can go to a visa agent and do any other form of visa if you need a long term solution.
covid extension is currently possible until end of march, but it's likely that they will extend it again (and again and again, until they re-open the borders).

Is Bwin poker still available in Thailand? I know Party was banned but I heard Bwin wasn't.

step 1: go to the website of your local royal thai embassy
step 2: read the requirements
step 3: ???
step 4: profit

but to answer it anyway: yes, most likely you need a return ticket. nearly all airlines will give you the ability to change the return flight for free currently.
depends on visa, but yes, for some options (and coming from some countries), you need an accomodation for after your quarantine. can book something via agoda that you can cancel for free when you've reached quarantine, as an example.

about ASQ options: go to google, enter ASQ hotels bangkok reviews and read a few results.

Is anyone playing Ipoker from Thailand? What skin are you using? Some skins are not allowed but the skin I was using is allowed but won't let me log in.

Had no issues with Betsafe, from time to time certain ISPs will block random gambling sites, usually doesn't last. It's most likely what the problem is.

Don't suppose you have any visa agents in BKK you recommend/mind sharing? I just got back here and really can't be ****ed with visa sweats anymore.

Hey need opinion/advice. Do you guys think they will care that my passport is full of stamps going in and out of Thailand when applying for STV? I have about 4 full pages left in passport and it doesn't expire for another 2 years. Normally I would get a new passport but now the process is anywhere from 4-8 weeks to get it back. Applying for STV from Canada

Really doubt they care about that now during covid times, Thailand is not in a position to reject anyone nowadays.

As long as there is enough space for the visa it shouldn't be a problem

0 chance they care about this kinda stuff anymore. You already got to jump through so many hoops to get here. They wont be turning back tourist for this kinda stuff for years to come.

The immigration Dept will never cease to amaze. These are the same idiots who have been threatening to stop the Covid extensions all last year. Luckily other ministries overturned them but they do not operate on good logic. Nothing would surprise me with them

Just way to much hassle as is to get here. Their desperate for tourist at this point. I mean who would think they would keep giving Covid extension visas this long? Still the extensions are coming.

They're doing covid extensions still? I only got one, for a month I think.

What's the deal with TM30 these days, as in do you need to redo within 24hrs when you return to your place after a trip?

Travel forums are quite contrary. Some people say only needs to be done with change of address now.

Not sure my understanding of it was right to begin with - as I understood it (before possible change), if you stay in a hotel, they TM30 your ass and your old TM30 (home) gets wiped. Then you just redo when you get home.

Would do as it's v straightforward but site seems like being hacked atm lol, and now I'm curious as to what the deal is surrounding TM30 anyways.

Yup I got buddies still doing them. I personally payed for a visa but yeah didnt even need to. The guys who sweated it to the last minute that were going to overstay made out as there still here picking up extensions every couple months. Still a pain in BKK though as you gotta run down to immigration twice for each extension.

In theory it works as you understand it but i've TM30'd my apartment then gone travelling to a bunch of different hotels/resorts or w/e (some checked in with my passport, some not) and then gone back home and not redone anything and never had problem with address report or anything at immigration. On elite visa fwiw but I doubt it makes a difference.

I think they changed it so you only need to do it once when you change address or something.
