Of course, but using this tech to enforce people to be in certain places with police, etc feels like another meaningful step toward dystopia.

The thai government operates through brutal oppression.

The elites want to use corona to buy up everything cheap from the bankrupt masses and they couldn't care less about somchai the serf...

In the west this has socialist characteristics (hey we gave you a fair shot to find alternative income within a couple of months) but the handouts have already stopped in the US, will stop in the UK soon and in other parts of Europe they won't last forever either.

This will lead to mass bankruptcies and sells offs of real assets like houses and apartments when people can't pay their mortgages anymore and possibly even hyperinflation if the money printing continues to pump cash into big corp.

What comes then might be lockdown for life Matrix style (get into your pods lads).

Poker is Dead in Thailand ?

BANGKOK, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Thailand is taking tough measures to fight online gambling by warning internet service providers and cellphone operators of legal action if they fail to block access to gambling websites.

Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri confirmed on Sunday Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed the authorities including the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission and the police to strictly take such measures to keep children and youths away from online gambling.

For that reason, those authorities have warned the ISPs and cellphone operators in Thailand to immediately deny access to a total of 1,202 gambling websites under court orders, which have been earlier issued, according to the government spokesman.

Those gambling portals are to be practically denied within 15 days or else the ISPs and cellphone operators might be faced with legal action under the Computer Crimes Act and the Gambling Act.

Many people, particularly adolescents and teenagers, are feared to be addicted to online gambling and spend a lot of money on betting games, given easy access to those gambling websites so far. Enditem

Thais are extremely hostile to foreigners in recent years which includes nasty and lazy low level staff at restaurants and hotels. Instagram induced narcissism / mind rot where low level workers feel too good for their job and above foreigners is at an all time high. It's generally known as a corrupt gangster country where westerners have no rights and where locals can murder you with impunity and it gets chalked up as suicide.

If you mess with higher up people's sources of income they will come at you with anything they can which includes using arbitrarily enforced laws to suit their needs.

I would avoid going to Thailand at all cost and with the economic starvation of the population in Bangkok it's a powderkeg waiting to explode.

People always whine about China but first tier cities are law and order and I can count the racist interactions with Chinese people on one hand over several years while insults, trash talk, death stares etc. are a daily occurrence in Thailand.

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

Xinhua is the official government news agency, which means they're not super trusted outside of China. I checked the Thailand reddit sub too. Nada.
