You know there are a lot of things I'll miss about BKK, but jesus christ will it be good to not have to read bkkdude's posts anymore.

Thailands reputation creates a vibe I have never experienced before. I have lived all over Asia and believe Thailand is a sad sight. The sex tourism is just downgrading towards the country and for women. I remember talking to a bunch of tourists who just wanted to screw bar girls and get drunk.

I first went to Thailand when they still had wild buffale on phucket. Before the bars girls and drunken tourists. The beauty of the south was unthinkable, now when i return (forced by business requirments) I just can wait to leave.

Got no idea about phuket, but in bangkok you just stay out of the nana area if you want to avoid the punters.

Yeh love Bangkok but deep down ill always have that vibe when in Thailand. Its just sad you know, i got Thai friends in Sydney and even they see how bad it is. Its the overall view from the world that destoried Thailand.

Tourists enjoy what the Americans started in the Vietnam war. Spreading disease across the poor females that come from the North eastern regions of Thailand, because they're families/traffic gangs force them to the cities to work.

Its sad man .. Seriously! These dirty guys sit there in patpong and pattaya infront of everyone thinking they are king shiit with 20 something year old girl with god knows what shoved up thier shalamut.

Its just my opinion thats all. I did alot of work over there with my government and seeing what these girls go through sometimes really sucks man. We dealt with countless Thai girls being "shipped" over to my country to work in brothels. These girls have some bad stories which are not pleasant.

They might be all smiles man but do you think they like screwing a different guy everynight so they can send money back home? We processed over a 1000 girls under the age of 20 through the Khon Kean hospital in 2003 which resulted in having AIDS. This was out of about 2500 females that were tested. We traced back a trafficking ring that led us and the French police to Pattaya were we found hundreds of girls being forced to work in the bars, get a weekly quota of guys and in some situations, set up the robbery of these tourists for money and passports. After months of research we found that they brought the girls from poor families or force the female into the sex trade by threating to tell the family about what thier daughter, sister whatever was doing. This is Thailand usaully results in the female losing contact with her family.

So yeh, thats why I think its wrong. The country is in a sad state of affairs and i feel sorry for anyone that goes there and conducts themselves in that manner and if they decide too, then maybe they should think if their daughter or sister was forced into the same position before i do it.

Human trafficking is terrible, but the way to end it isn't to condemn consensual sex. It's to accept it, and focus on the real problem.

There are lots of girls that are doing things they wouldn't do if it wasn't for the money. you know, kind of like you with your job. tourists just don't interact with girls that are forced into the sex trade by anything other than their desire for money.

It's a cultural aspect that Isaan regions have, that family do not accept things like this and it results in the family disowning the person in question (intense i know). SE Asia is similar in this aspect. I worked in Cambodia a few years in relation to Vietnam organisations moving human cargo from regional thailand and Vietnam into a place called Svay Pak for child brothel owners, many times the girls have stories of escape which when they got home were not accepted because od rumors they were sex workers. Sad.

The bar girls are not in an intense position like these girls but it generates the issue with gangs seeing the chance to profit from the reputation. It is like someone smoking weed, its a lesser of what is a highly organised (sometimes international) ring of illegal activity.

You guys just dont see the bigger picture. To you guys that pay for it, its consenual. The female won't question you, won't say no to you, which results in you thinking it is fine what you are doing. Just like if you go to work yet hate it. What are you going to do? you forced into this by factors out or your control (bills, expenses).

I only stress the subject so much because I feel sorry for the country and for the guys that need to pay for it. Its even more sad to see. Would ashame to be set up for rape and get 15 years in the Bangkok Hilton. Not that I would pitty you for being forced to eat rat meat!
