Full Thai ****** mode is in effect, was speaking to Thais today and no one has a clue, but there was a case of CCP virus found in a 7/11 in bang Tao today(which is one of the provinces still shut off) and their response was to close every single 7 in Phuket tomorrow

It's promising that the alcohol ban is being lifted but I've been told that the country is still closed to foreigners and they have extended the ban until 30 May. Wtf. I'm stuck in ****ing Argentina. They have closed all flights until September here. Wtf times one million.

What I meant was when I was there max atm withdrawal was ~$80 and had a $10 fee on top of it, thats before if your bank decides they want to charge for the international wd.

Hairdressers, markets, and booze back on here in Phuket.

i) At most ATMs, the local charge is THB 220 (USD 6.70)

ii) Use a card such as Revolut which charges no fees (no fee for international withdrawal, no FX fee, etc.)

iii) Max withdrawal of the equivalent of USD 80 (that's around THB 2500) is extremely unusual. Krungsri, Bangkok Bank etc. all have a limit of at least THB 20,000.

That would be a useful answer if we were talking about Thailand at this given moment

This is not a sockpuppet account referencing user "rickroll".

I must have sub-consciously seen his s/n when creating my account and chosen a similar (and hence uncreative) nick.

I have already contacted forum administration about a nick change but they didn't reply.

Seen a go-go in LK up for rent in a facebook group the other day, rent was 250k/month with 385k key money for 3 years. The writer even had the audacity to include 'Bar fine is 1/2k baht' is some obscure way to sweeten the deal. Will be awhile before the bottom is in.

I read somewhere(Bangkok Post?) that there would be police checkpoints at every provincial boundary and major city and that anyone traveling inter-provincially would need to show proof that they need to go there but my wife drove from Sakon Nakhon to Hua Hin a few days ago and didn't encounter 1 checkpoint. She wasn't stopped once!

I need to drive from Koh Samui up to Udon Thani in the coming week. I'm a little worried about this. Maybe better to fly.

If you do decide to drive, make sure you are off the roads during the curfew, from 10 PM to 4 AM I think it is.

I haven't been to Thailand since January so take this FWIW. But in normal times, it's waay better to fly.

Take a morning PG flight to BKK. Then, on separate ticket, take an afternoon VZ (Thai Vietjet) flight to UTH.

It takes like 6h with a safe 3,5h transfer in BKK. You got additional options if you don't mind doing an airport transfer to DMK using a Grab or the shuttle bus.
