Where I live why paying $10 for a steak with Café de Paris sauce in a French restaurant when I can go to a BBQ buffet restaurant and eat everything I want for $20, the BBQ buffet is crazy good value when you compare. Why paying 9k for LT with a 8/10 gogo bar girl in BKK when you can get your dong sucked by a 8/10 girl in a BJ bar for 1k? I mean 9-10k for LT, that's like half the local salary wtf, lol at paying that for any girls who are not min 9/10 and even, I am always dying a bit inside when I hear this prices.

Long story short, but they fkd up my dates on arrival. I went to immigration to get extension and they initially stamped an extra 30, then noticed the mistake and reversed it.

I am now officially overstaying 35 days and need to leave the country. They let me leave immigration as they realised it was their mistake, but I need to gtfo. They said to just pay 20k on exit, but said I could be arrested etc.

What are my best options regarding leaving.? Can I pay my fine at a land border? Would Laos be okay or should I fly out instead?

Sounds like a very strange situation.

Just fly out, come early, they will direct you to the relevant people, you will pay your fine and that's about it. If you are lucky and act super submissive like a thai who has messed up maybe they will even let you off, but I doubt you know the proper thai behavior for that. Just don't get argumentative - thais hate that.

You can apparently pay the fine at chaeng wattana as well but these folks generally aren't the kind and understanding kind of people in my experience.

Land borders are shady and ghetto as **** and I wouldn't go there unless you absolutely have to.

Wait so cause the immigration guy on arrival made a mistake on the stamp you have to pay 20k? Can you not get them to check the system at the airport or anything?

Basically on arrival, on a TV, they stamped me 90 days instead of 60. I went to extend on 14th August, all was good, got the stamp and then the lady doing the processing clocked it, then pulled me aside and said that the border made a mistake, but by law I am overstaying.

She just crossed it out with a red pen and crossed out the initial stamp, then stamped 15 July and I'm now overstaying since then officially.

This is the first TV I've had in years and honestly didn't expect this. I spent like 4hours there and was almost arrested, detained on the spot. They all know me there though and were apologetic etc. Just said to pay 20k on exit, but that I could be arrested and let me go.

So obviously I'm super stressed, worried they may come round my house etc. Need to leave. If I say fly to philli or Cambo, stay a couple months, then return to Thailand on either a TV or entry visa, there should be no issues re entering? It's quite clear in my passport that this was a mix up, and I was not overstaying intentionally.

Seems absurd to still get max fine. But Thais Gona thai. If I wer you id get a new passport before returning, it’s gona be an endless headache trying to explain it everytime you cross the border, with added expenditures and set backs, like if you get turned away.

I never understand what brings people with serious money to Thailand. It's a shady sewer, thais are pretty hostile towards western foreigners these days and hookers have predatory attitudes for the most part and are difficult to manage.

InfoShove is getting way better value for a young guy in the Philippines and a high end guy can just go to Singapore instead where you have a red light district with thai whores without having to live in a lawless 3rd world sewer where a thai could murder you at any moment and get away with it.

Hell, the police even stole Tim Sharkeys gold in Pattaya...

Totally absurd to pay full fine tbh, also to now be illegal etc. Most stressed been in a long time tbh.

At first the guy said I could pay 10k and get 7days extension. Then it went up to 15k, then ended on 18.9k, or I could leave immigration and pay 20k on exit. It was 16:45 at that point so I didn't return.

My plan was to just stay inside of the blacklist window and pay on exit in a month or so, but now stressing they may come around my house. Other than this occurring, the likelihood of me being caught is fairly unlikely though so may be worth the risk.

What's the chance they actually do come around? Recently got fresh action and basically just want to grind right now, don't have time for this **** tbh.

If you look at the news it's pretty much murder and mayhem in Thailand - even in Bangkok.

A couple guys in this thread got suicided from balconies by their thai girlfriends I think and a couple others died while riding scooters.

One guy in this thread murdered his thai wife though so that evens it out.

A pissed off thai woman is a raging demon ready to snap murder you and given their petty and jealous nature you can piss them off pretty easily. I wish they had money and interest in playing poker as they would tilt away everything.

Just go to the airport and all will be good if you don't overstay more than 90 days. Jspill overstayed a year or something at one point and just paid his 20k before the ban came into place and he's still in Thailand.

You can also go to your embassy and ask them to help fixing this.

Your mileage may vary as embassies in Bangkok deal with cluster****s on a daily basis and are mostly not overly enthusiastic about assisting citizens but it's better than doing nothing as you're obviously not at fault.

Cheers man. Yeah I'm feeling better now that it's been nearly a week without any issues. If they were on it they would have come round already perhaps.

Just weighing up the options of staying and rinsing the 50 more days, or bailing tomorrow for peace of mind.

If I know they won't come round my house I'm snap staying obv, but fk do I want end in BK detention centre and deported etc... Such a tilt that would be.

With all the TM30 stuff going on right now I would be more careful than usual and either go to your embassy or just leave and explain that there was an unfortunate mistake on their end and you would appreciate if they could just let you off. (arguing with officials = you make them lose face)

I heard "roundups" of foreigners (mostly Africans) happen in ladprao on occasion but if you stay in a touristy part and aren't registered with the police you are probably fine.

Lived here on and off for 6 years, and never got into confrontation with a Thai ever, and considering I drink 3-5 times a week, its a good proportion of my time which is spent with the lowest section of society, where we are both intoxicated. There isnt too many countries on the planet that I could have did this and not been robbed/attacked at some point.

Easy way to avoid the 'Suicides'. dont gf/marry a hooker, especially if you share like 100 words. You would expect there to be alot of trouble with relationships with working girls everywhere else on earth, shouldnt be different here.

i paid 20k to max overstay without ban (89 day), left out of bkk airport. if you really want to go through with it i would not stay at your tm30 registered place. go somewhere else. leave your passport at home when you go out and use your home countries drivers license as your form of id, be clean shaven and dont get into fights. i got stopped 3 times while overstayed on suk rd at 4-6 am wasted with tgf/thai hookers coming home from clubs and got let go everytime after they checked my license "oh america!!"

im not a fan of thais attitude towards foreigners now i wish i had come back in the day after the beach movie came out but iv enjoyed my time spent here. ive been to just about every country and south america,central america and africa. i only know japan, thailand and vietnam in asia and i think thailand is a pretty clean/nice place compared to other places i have lived so i have no complaints. i love third world lifestyle and the more dangerous the more exciting for me personally. if i want safety and cleanliness and laws ill return to the u.s. nearly 10 years since i left and i hope to never have to return

fwiw i live rural. immi have visited my house before, but this was sometime ago now, and while i was on a different visa. i'm not at risk of being stopped or checked really, only issue is if immigration do want to check whether i've left or not, and decide to come around. this is my main concern.
