400-500K$?
Living prices seems to be on a rising level for Western men in Thailand.

Micro's are down already :P they upped the rake big time

Working a normal job, 180 hours a month is reality for me atm. It feels ok, but do i miss Thailand...
Rather than trying to save 4-500K to try live off why not invest in passive income. Real estate would be the easiest choice...

If you are a true degen it will be more close to 4M$-5M$
100k$/year is easy to spend.

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

even if not a degen 4-500K is nothing for someone in their early 30s. Even if living a frugal life style there are always extra expenses that you don't account for. Plus with inflation your savings are just losing value sitting in a bank, hence why investing would be the wiser choice

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

I posted a couple weeks back about problems collecting a judgement. There's been a lot of conflicting opinions on the matter. My own thinking is a financial discovery is going to have to be conducted.

The reason for a financial discovery is because people lie in financial disclosure statements in order to hide money from spouses/family members. (Financial discovery involves subpoena of documents to court with penalty of perjury for false statements. There has to be a penalty for lying otherwise people will keep doing it).

If I'm wrong, and there's a way to settle this like gentlemen without dragging people into court/lawsuits/bad press/media smearing/etc/etc I'd love to listen and I'm all ears.

Situation dependent. How much is it? Who's more afraid of bad press? Who has more to lose? Is it the money you need or the message that you want to send? What's in your long term interests?

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

Regarding proof of onward travel:

No visa - I'll get the 30-day exemption and a 30-day extension, too. Can I book a flight within 60 days to satisfy proof of onward travel requirements, or is it likely that they'll need to see a flight within 30 days?

It's always a crapshoot, if you get unlucky and they ask for proof of onwards travel I would lean towards not having a ticket within 30 days is going to be an additional hiccup. Just get one of those fake onward travel booking things.

Will go to Thailand and stay ~3months, my monthly budget is 1.2k$, can I make it with it or do I need more?

It is true that going to Bangkok and not smashing a ladyboy is like going to Istanbul and not eating kebab?
Anyone?

Been a while but I had to VPN or teamviewer into a friends computer back home and then skrill worked, it didn't like Thai IP address

$1.2k is doable for a quiet life, thai food and basic studio flat

1) if your accounts are registered to your country address it will work just fine. Skrill ATM card works. But if you switch address to Thailand then no

2) For 1.2k I would advice you some cheaper city like Chiang Mai. Bangkok or Phuket or Pataya will be to expensive or you will live ****ty life with this budget there.

3)LOL
