2) Say I win a large MTT while in CM (I'll be going for 12 months) and have a large sum of money. What is the best way about going about that when I move back to the States? I'm assuming Crypto? Is it an issue to say, win 50k, transfer 50k USD from a Thai bank account -> USA bank account and move back? Feel like I'm going to be dealing with some issues.. but I expect to make $50k+ during my trip and need to be prepared.

Would be super difficult to send 50k out of Thailand, there is capital controls and from what I've heard you have to explain where the money came from and all this stuff to get approved for international transfers, which isn't worth dealing with. Only send what you need here for living expenses.

If you did end up with a bunch of money here crypto could be a good option though I guess, trade or buy crypto on an exchange here and sell for USD.

What's the cost of living compared to Bangkok. Not living in Patong or any tourist area and not concerned about rent prices and already know public transpo is a joke. Just wondering about food at the grocery store, restaurants and other everyday expenses.

who told you to avoid it? it's basically just the party area of phuket, mainly centred around walking street which has clubs, girlie bars and gogos. maybe if you have a stick up your ass there will be nothing for you, but theres little reason to avoid it (provided you dont mind infinite russians/oldies wandering around shirtless/in speedos during the daytime, all white people and tourist pricing).

I live here for the mix of beaches and I’m a degen, degen more than I go to the beach, so would rather drive 20 mins to a good beach when I feel like it, rather than driving 20 mins drunk to degen. Plus I don’t mind ‘overpaying’ for some things.
