At the Thai red cross clinic they sell it, on the form you fill out you put that you're there to buy meds not to get an STD/HIV test. I live in Thailand most of the year , I come and go , as long as your poker account was opened in your home country you can play as much as you like from Thailand.
With some poker rooms you need a VPN but most of them are open from a Thai IP address.. But I would recommend to use VPN anyway, just in case.

I have also used VPN on Stars, , many times. But mostly because I forget to turn it off, since I watch some TV streams through VPN.

But Stars do allow you to play from Thailand , if the account was opened in your home country. So no need for VPN. It would be really harsh of them to close the account based on that you forgot to turn it off. I hope I never experience that.
