anyone know a physical store (not Lazada) where I could buy a shirt with Bitcoin logo? I know btc is kind of illegal here, but getting a shirt should not be that hard right?

So illegal in fact that you can buy/sell/trade btc and other alt coins on bx.in.th and link your K-bank or any other Thai bank account directly with it to cash in and out from.

Oh i did not know, thats pretty sweet. But every person I have talked here in almost 3 months have no clue about crypto whatsoever. And maybe I have read somewhere that its illegal, so I just assumed it is true cuz everybody seems clueless.

fine print of BX technically says no currency or coin is allowed to leave thailand or they are allowed to confiscate it. doesn't happen in practice yet, but the risk is there in print

Still doesn't make it illegal and damn near impossible to monitor and impose, but yeah your right it is in the small print.

Filter for monthly on airbnb, you could go up to 35k ish since no utilities cost with airbnb

Gyms are overpriced here especially as you are only staying a few months you can't sign a year contract they'll rip you off even more. Best is to find a condo with all that and factor it into the cost. I used to live at Trendy condo Sukhumvit soi 13, walking distance to Asok with gym, pool and sauna. Barbell, bench press, dumbbells, pull up bars, cable crossover, both gym and pool really large. The rooms on Airbnb are studios though.

There's a True fitness connected to Asoke BTS though, and Aspire club. Or WE Fitness at Ekkamai BTS. There's no official pricing they sit you down and see how much they can rip you off by. Maybe 1.5k baht/month ish on a year contract or 4k baht/month for you staying 2-4 months. Should be approximately what Racquet club in Phrom Phong charges, they're the only ones to write their prices down, 21400 1 year 4280 1 month - http://www.rqclub.com/membership

I recommend Jatomi Fitness Rama 4. Relatively close to Asok, between Phrom Pong and Asok. The normal price is 2k/month but it seems like you'll always be able to get the "special promotion" price of 1.2k/month if you refuse the 2k/month initial offer. 3 squat racks, plenty of free weights, benches, dumbells, lots of machines. No sauna. Lots of girly yoga/stupid fitness classes too, if you're into that.

EDIT: My contract is 3 months for 3600THB total. I spoke to another member who got the same price.

is it true that in Laos culture if you bang a chick you are obligated to marry her by their ****ty laws? I just got warned by 2 trusted sources like: "dont bang laos girls or you can get in alot of trouble. Some of them will wanna move their stuff to your place or call the cops if you refuse." Thats a bunch of bs isnt it? I want some action, otherwise its gonna be a boring trip.

Also if you wanna party in Laos in kind of a safe, more developed area where to go? Any good bars/clubs?

You'll be fine for short term sex. Just if you live there and keep seeing the same girl you might get a knock on the door from the police ready extort some money from you. They do have laws though saying you have to be married or something of that sort.

All the bars i went to in Laos were safe. Theres some walking distance from the main downtown area. Not sure where the best hooker bars are at. You can google and find some places but i wouldnt worry about safety at all. Not sure where you're staying but if its by the embassy then theres not much around that i seen. If you're staying by the river on he main street you're close to alot of bars.

There was one really cool non hooker club i went to. You could order food and drink in the outside area at a table and they had solid live music. Then inside was a dance club with tables and live music. It was mostly Laos people there with a couple younger white guys. You could tell it was the hiso crowd for Laos. It was like a 10min ride from the main downtown road near the river. The hotel guy suggested it but i cant remember the name.

I did a quick search online to see if i could find that clubs name but its not anywhere i see. Think its not been found by the internet yet. I remember last year when i was there i was searching online for places to go and alot of the places i checked out from online suggestions werent that cool. That place was good though. Maybe just get out there and explore ask your hotel or something and see what happens.

I went to this place https://www.lonelyplanet.com/laos/vi.../414428/356947. It had pretty solid live music it was like a mix of Thai and then cover songs of Western but the drinks were over priced AF for Laos. It was mostly locals there. The one singer was actually really good i think they had 3 diff girls sing and the first was some old lady she wasnt good but the other one was really good. I wouldnt call it the ideal place to be all night esp if you're solo, its fun if you're with a date but its 100% safe and i seen a couple cute girls there but most were in groups. Close to there is this https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...refecture.html

Which had a surprisingly solid philly cheese steak for cheap. You can walk through all these place if you're staying on the main area of the river. A couple outdoor bars down around the river area.

This coffee shop was the bomb

Sounds like an awful hellish place to spend 2 nights every 3 months.

Id much rather live in the uk, working 9-5 and have one 3 week holiday per year in Asia.
