2 questions:

1. Anyone on phangan or samui atm? How is the weather?
(Last year at the beginning of september, I went samui and although planned to go phangan, gave up because weather was really bad.. all the time cloudy with alot of rain)
I'm comming to bkk in 1 month and would like to go there.. if weather is bad, somewhere else.
How is full moon party? (don't care about girls because I will be with gf.. care about good party, music, drink..)

Will I have time to pick up my visa in Laos and make a flight from udon Thani airport at 6pm?

I made that flight last March with like 90 mins to spare. Make sure you drop your passport off early the day before so you can get a early pickup number and you should be ok.

If their doing fast track service make sure you do that on drop off. They had the fast track before but my last laos visit the fast track was shut down.

Been around to the bars again.

I'm a little bored with Bangkok. Just been too many times. I've had some enjoyable day trips, and still a great place to just hangout and have a nice meal and some drinks when the day is done. I'm almost forcing myself to go the bars because it might be awhile before I return.

It's not just boring bar girls, but you go to the malls and they all dress like old women.

Unless you eat Thai food it's an expensive place to eat, normal bars are too expensive for what they are.

Then there are the gogos. Just terrible compared to what they were even 4 years ago. I used to think Twister, Baccara, Billboard along with Crazy House were the only bars worth visiting.

Scratch all that and just visit Crazy House. And even then there's only a few in there with great bodies. Ther s a lot of girls dancing in Crazy House right now. Numbers are up but it's just thinned out the quality even more.

And throw in the fact everywhere closed early Wednesday and only Patpong and a few Cowboy bars were open Thursday night and I ask myself why I put up with nightlife closures, high nightlife prices, declining bar scene. Basically people are travelling to the other side of the world for Crazy House and it's not worth the effort.

Also many Chinese in the gogos. I'm kind of shocked how many there are. I think the gogos won't survive long term without them.

Maybe I should have just gone to Pattaya.

You've been to Asia a million times. Why not try eastern Europe? Cheap beer, hot hookers, better food

I will have to try it but I do like south-east asia. Red light areas are relatively safe, warm climate.

Manila and AC are definitely an option for next year.

And in a way I have felt this way about Bangkok bars since about 2015 but everytime my mind has been changed by an awesome final night.

I know I'm just being a big unlucky because I know my way around bangkok, but there why spend $200-300 per night in the bars when there are other places that offer better value.

LOL69 your doing it wrong. You should at least be doing a portion of your trip in Pattaya. Soi 6, cheaper beer, and better value hotels u can easily cut your spending in half.

Palace had as good if not better then any BKK gogo lineup 1st quarter this year. Problem is seating. Not sure how lineup currently but i imagine its still near the top.
