Pooter, I say he's 100% genuine, but just a complete and utter Thailand fish. Anyways, I'll try to contribute helpful advice to this thread even though correctly pointed out I am a Thailand fish. So, to follow up on the robbery. My phone should be covered by insurance. However, I'm going to need an official report and those don't seem easy to get from my experience yesterday. Apparantly, insurance fraud especially for so called stolen phones is heavy practice over here.

Visited 2 police stations yesterday, but as mentioned there is a language/cultural barrier and possibly suspicion of my story since I do not know exactly where this alley was (no longer had a phone and fight/flight behavior of needing to flee – just grabbed the next taxi home). Also, do not have clear markings of assault as I didn't take any blows to the face, just some scrapes on hands and body pain.

Also, as mentioned this type of report doesn't seem high on the priority list for many reasons especially damage to the tourism economy. So, today a continuation of that and getting in contact with insurance which I am told 1-800 toll free numbers to the US can be dialed through Skype so I will need to install and figure that out.

I'd also like to reiterate while there is money or a lot of money at stake in this situation, the money is only a symbol. And the reason why I have allowed (unconsciously) this drama to escalate to "game of death" level and not "minimized the problem" is because the money represents as shown in the Breaking Bad screenshots – freedom. Freedom of expression. And yes, I will die for that.

So, I'm still in Thailand and still have a little money to stir up "discussion". So, if anyone else is interested in similar let me know if you're down for fun.

Also, just so you guys know the Thai military is probably monitoring this thread now that I've visited/contributed. They were definitely all over me for the first couple weeks trying to determine if I was "dangerous". Ironic considering I was never beat up and robbed on the streets of America despite living in Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco.

Also, Tourist Police don't do reports. At least not at one of the main offices on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road. Big sign on the wall saying "No Passports. No Reports." Finally, got a report at the 4th station I visited (counting Tourist Police). Put a couple hundred baht on the table to smooth the transaction, but officer would not accept. Guy next to me paying a fine hit me up for 20 though.

It would take a while to track down each individual source, but the reading I did before coming over was that Thai's were very big on "harmony" in social situations. And therefore people who think differently (whatever label is put on it) are viewed highly suspiciously.

So, my thinking is American government (not politicians you see on the TV - the real shadow players) wanted to keep tabs on me and reached out for a favor from Thai government to pick up the slack for them. I'm sure Thai's wanted to know "why" extra attention on this person - and American govt responded "potentially dangerous" without revealing the entire story. (Modern surveillance is mostly telecoms so would also explain online dating trouble.)

And my suspicion is the entire story goes all the way back to Operation Paperclip if you're familiar. Mental experiments, Nazi mind control, etc. So, I don't think the American govt lied when saying potentially dangerous - they just didn't reveal that they're the ones responsible for the dog who's been chained up too long and might get "bitey".

This could take up an entire volume of books, but most of the cults in America are petri dishes for govt mind control experiments (in most cases watered down versions - can't have anyone with mental technology powerful enough to rival yours).
