That's very expensive, there's a website based in CM that does it for a lot cheaper, something like 1k baht.

But I read that you can get it yourself with a tourist visa, so why pay for it.

I opened an account with Bangkok Bank last month and it didn't cost me anything (in Bangkok tho), could be that other branches charge more.

yeah you totally get it. the issue is obviously about needing to lock up $60 in the account...not about closing it without any communication what so ever. they have my address, email & phone number & internet bank to communicate via.

sounds like a sweet deal you got going there with your bank. better hold on to that.

only americans are grateful for big corp to only **** with them a little bit and not completely **** them up. you know, it could always be worse. seems like you better get used to that...

As if anyone at the bank has time to call or email a busto tourist about his 50.00 account balance.

you really do seem pretty dumb since it is not about the actual balance. i processed 3M+ baht on that account over the years and expect them to not just shut it down randomly. but then i am just a naive scandi who has not yet accepted that it is my faith in life to get fuxxed in the ass by big corp at any chance.

3mill but couldn't leave a 2k minimum balance. I'd shut you down without warning too. You should be writing them a email thanking them for running their business so well.

That's also weird to me... My bank in Canada would never close someone down without saying anything, and as far as I know they never do. Maybe if someone has 0 funds and they are paying a monthly plan, but then they'd call for sure to know what's up.

From talking to other guys here that 4k is inclusive of all "services"

So basically like going to Nana and getting a bank account as a bonus

anyone with recent dentist experience in bkk?
looking to do regular checkup/clean & probably some fillings.
not looking for cheapest option but don't want to end up paying some rich stupid falang prices either.

maipenrai,

There are a bunch of places on Sukhumvit 55 ranging in price. Thong Lor Dental Hospital and Denta Joy are the expensive ones but there are cheaper options. Just get off at Thong Lo BTS and walk up Sukhumvit 55. For a regular clean the price difference is going to be very small, for other work there will be bigger differences. The care you get at the expensive places is better though. The smaller cheaper places are usually one dentist and his assistants rushing through as much customers as possible.

Just made a booking with these guys http://www.dentalhospitalbangkok.com
Prices she quoted including fillings seemed very reasonable.
I have actually used them once before long time ago and was happy with their service.

might as well post their prices if there are other people looking for dentist

I would like to inform you the estimated cost of initial dental check up is 200 Baht, intraoral x-ray 200 Baht per film, panoramic x-ray 1,000 Baht, professional teeth cleaning 1,500-1,800 Baht, filling 1,400-2,200 Baht per tooth approximately and crown procedure 20,000-22,000 Baht per tooth approximately. The large cavity filling or more surfaces costs more.
