Yes they'll just give you another 30 days no problems since you're a new tourist. If you try to do that for more than 180 days in a year you might start running into problems, get an actual visa before that point

Technically 29 days no 30, day zero counts as day one. Some people forget to check the date stamped and end up overstaying 1 day

Thats good to know jspill..yea my first trip here i actually just bought an air asia flight to malaysia for $37 before i got to the airport.
It was cheaper than running up to nyc in the last few days to get 60 day.
I know now I never needed it.

We had talked about having her, her daughter, and her sister come here to the United States for a two-week vacation this summer. However, I've just realized that they'll need tourist visas, too. I don't think we'll be able to get that accomplished.

I don't know if anyone has any experience with this, but from the reading I've been doing it sounds like I've got a better chance at getting a tourist visa if she's the only one who comes. It seems that immigration wants to be assured that a tourist will actually return home, and leaving her daughter behind supports that notion.

What's her job? Unless she's an actual employee with a 20k+ salary(not a random data entry monkey) there's little chance she'll be able to come. If she's an entrepreneur, she will need many years of financial background information + house guarantee. If she's a freelancer/unemployed, almost 0 chance even if married.
Is she fluent? If she speaks pidgin English, theres no chance she gets a visa.

It is extremely difficult to get a tourist visa for a Thai unless she has a good job (by American standards) with a contract that she has to come back to or owns a lot of land (Issan does not count). It's even tougher when the Thai is a girlfriend, the fear is that you two will get married while in the US. That being said, if you can meet the requirements then getting a tourist for the daughter is a piece of cake. Leaving her behind won't help or hurt your case.

I'm looking to get paid for some work I have done by an Australian company and I am thinking of getting it into my thai kasikorn account to avoid the euro taxman.
Any issue getting a 450k baht transfer into a thai bank account? I don't want it to get locked, flagged or any other shenanigans. I havn't had any money in the kasikron account in 4 years but it seems to be live since I can log into it online.

A 450k transfer wont raise any flags at all. However, no idea if any problems could arise, if your account has been dormant for so long. Just make a small cash deposit or withdrawal to make sure, they havent blocked the account.

A sicknote from a doctor in Thailand to show your employer back home? Might as well just photoshop it....

Thailand ask like 1% and often still let you board without one, when you explain you don't need a visa for thailand because they offer visa waiver, and sign a form saying you'll take responsibility in the event you can't enter

I've never been asked, flown into thailand dozens of times from EU and elsewhere in SEA. It tends to be certain US airlines, and I hear KoreaAir asks too. If you're American that 1% goes up a bit but it's still not a big deal

Anyway just arrive at the airport checkin with plenty of time to spare and book a quick airasia ticket on your phone if you get asked and you can't blag it / sign some form
Dunno about Thailand, but when I go from GER to HK (I live there) Air Berlin and Lufthansa asked every time so far, and I have to show my local identity card because I don't have return flight. Just to let CRAI know...

wrt visa for gf thing - my thai friend went to usa to study for 6 months. She's applied for a visa 3 times now to go back and visit, just gets denied everytime. Goes to good uni in bkk, comes from family with money - but looks like no hope for her visa.

visa entry to the USA def not something the state dept. just hands out. I wouldn't have high hopes for any 'normal' person applying

You can put a phillipino girl in your suitcase and take her home yet it's so difficult for thai women.
Met so many asian women in the states but only 1 time a thai woman.
Chinese all over the place and all they do is steal and spit.
It mystifies me really why our country is so anti-thai immigration.

If you do get a sicknote from a Thai clinic/hospital, pretty sure your employer can figure out where you are....

Hey guys.

I'm a long time mid-high stakes grinder moving to chiang mai in July. I'm mostly looking to PM with anyone living in chiang mai that can assist me with any specific questions that might come up. Of course it would also be nice to get to know some of the poker guys there as well.

Some of my main questions are:

1.) where is good to live (or maybe where is bad to live). I'm looking to pay no more than $1800USD/month for rent and idealy less. I want a 2-3 bedroom walking distance to a coffee shop/restaurant at least. Preferably modern, safe, pool, hot tub is huge bonus. reliable internet is a must ofc. Being close to fun things is preferred. I have a cat so i would love to find a place that fits these descriptions yet has a yard for him. I know that's unlikely, I have looked over about 150 places so far and I've found a lot of good places, but always looking for better...

2.) anyone in chiang mai that knows someone/groups of people looking to golf, bowl, pingpong, booze, i'm in.

3.) is there anything i'll need to do with regards to playing poker there since its 'illegal'? I can just play normally and not talk about it with strangers/authorties right?

4.) is there are any extra complications having a cat in thailand that would be different than North America?

5.) anything else that i might need to know about chiang mai would be much appreciated. Please PM me if you're in the area and can help :-) I'm willing to pay for anyone that finds me an apartment/saves me money finding me an apartment with help that I can not do from Anguilla.

Thanks, Chad :-)

Don't think it's possible to spend 1.8k in CM, something like a 2 bed at Liv@Nimman condo is under half that

Nimman is the most popular area

Chiang Mai digital nomads group on facebook

Yep fine to grind just don't talk about it with randoms

my girlfriend applied to a school there to teach and was accepted.

i have been told chiang mai is great.... is this wrong? i guess it doesn't matter much as we are already committed for 2 years minimum.
