they actually check, but they dont give a **** I believe
I had too many exemptions, so they didnt let me in once and filled a bunch of papers and bullied me in a small room full with officers so they sent me to cambodia
I got a tourist visa there and had to tell a very sad story to make them let me in ( I was with a girl so we told them we were about to marry ) they took pictures of us and wrote more **** on my profile
after that I made a new passport and went to laos to do an ED visa
when I was passing through immigration in udon thani ( or whatever city is in the boarder ) the girl passed first and she said she looked at his screen and all the pictures that we took and a lot of text showed there, he didnt give a **** and let me in
so im a dumbass and forgot to do the reentry stuff, so december I went home and my ED visa got cancelled, so I had to try another exemption or was going to be exiled in cambodia again
the officer just stamped and didnt say a word to me, could be because of the new passport, because seems like he was looking for stamps there, or could be that my last exemption was 9 months ago ( had tourist visa and half ed visa after this )
always try to find the queue at immigration with the officer in a good mood, some not even look in the face of the person and just stamp and let them in
