i don't think you could eat thai food if no msg. not sure i'd trust them with preparing western food either. you could always just stock up at a supermarket or eat subway for a couple of weeks.

I have the same allergies (except for msgs) and survived so far. Don't order pad thai, avoid street food (msg is everywhere). There is live games but they are illegal and not super juicy imo

As I understand it Chiang Mai is all shut down by midnight and everyone gets an early night before their 7am crossfit workout and vegan breakfast

Might be a dumb visa question but :

Been declined for TR visa back in October in Vientiane.

I plan to come back there with a fresh passport (no visa, just one exemption 30+30)

Any chance they notice something and decline again ?

What are the best resorts or resort areas to take the GF?

I would like to stay in some nice beach resorts with solid internet and a few other activities. I have a month total to visit a few different places

What nationality are you?

I have never seen anyone getting rejected in Vientiane.

seems like they're coming down harder on people who misuse tourist visas.

Yeah so much harder. Like I had to spend maybe 10 days out of the country

Doubt they bother checking their records and linking your new passport to the old one. There's no answer to that question though afaik.

Any advice on cheapest option where to get a 60 days tourist visa? vientiane? I checked with some service companies but seems cheaper to do it yourself.

I also got a new one recently and had no problem getting exemption coming in at Suvarnabhumi. I'm very certain they don't check records unless you give them a reason to (at least at immigration). There's a pretty high chance of the same thing happening at embassies.

Cheap way, 36 hours door to door

Fly to udon thani with Nok air first flight of the day ~1000 baht
Van to Frienship bridge, cross border, van direct to the embassy - 300 baht
Apply for Thai visa
Walk to hotel and get a room for one night (dont be a lazy f*) ~1000 baht
Next day 1.30pm get new thai visa at consulate 1000 baht (free now)
Make your way back to Udon airport, van to border + share a taxi, or tale the bus ~ 500
Take the plane back to bkk around 6pm. 5pm possible, depends of your queue # at the consulate. 1000 baht.

Total 6000 ish.

You can save extra money if you use only buses, if you sleep in a dorm or some backpacker sh*thole etc but ain't nobody got time for dat

Does anyone use "EntroPay" to deposit here?
I've been trying to deposit onto neteller for about amonth but still can't do it. I'm basically just ****ed if I can't deposit in the next month.

they actually check, but they dont give a **** I believe
I had too many exemptions, so they didnt let me in once and filled a bunch of papers and bullied me in a small room full with officers so they sent me to cambodia

I got a tourist visa there and had to tell a very sad story to make them let me in ( I was with a girl so we told them we were about to marry ) they took pictures of us and wrote more **** on my profile

after that I made a new passport and went to laos to do an ED visa
when I was passing through immigration in udon thani ( or whatever city is in the boarder ) the girl passed first and she said she looked at his screen and all the pictures that we took and a lot of text showed there, he didnt give a **** and let me in

so im a dumbass and forgot to do the reentry stuff, so december I went home and my ED visa got cancelled, so I had to try another exemption or was going to be exiled in cambodia again

the officer just stamped and didnt say a word to me, could be because of the new passport, because seems like he was looking for stamps there, or could be that my last exemption was 9 months ago ( had tourist visa and half ed visa after this )

always try to find the queue at immigration with the officer in a good mood, some not even look in the face of the person and just stamp and let them in

Dont you have any person at home that you can trust with your bank and neteller account ? This person can do the depositing from home.

It's a solution but short term accommodation are more expensive, and some of us have social circle here (friends girlfriends etc) stuff like vehicles, furniture, computers, bank accounts. As much as I like to travel I like to have a place I call home.
