Ayuthiya is worth a stop if you're into the temple stuff and you can catch a boat back to Bangkok from there.
Cheers guys. Heading to Lopburi tomorrow.
If anyone is up for a 2/3 days trip through Khao Yai, camping in the jungle etc. lmk. You have to hire a guide but it sort of makes sense given how easy it'd be to get lost/bitten by a cobra.
The temple you're refering to is Prasat Preah Vihear and is (still) on the Cambodian side of the border. Def sketchy to get there/the area is still mined afaik. That being said prob still worth a visit.
