Got some bull**** message from stars-

If you are located in Thailand, we will need to update your account to reflect this.

In order to update your account with this information, we ask that you please send us the following documents at your earliest convenience:

1. A clear copy of your driver's license (front and back) or other government issued photo ID.

2. A copy of a recent utility bill clearly showing your full name, current address, and statement date (no older than 3 months). In lieu of a utility bill, we will accept a landline phone bill, lease, title deed, bank statement, payslip, or insurance bill, which includes your full name, current address, and statement date. We will not be able to accept personal letters or online statements.

(tldr- need some photo ID) I would prefer not to get the drivers license since it seems like a pain in the ass to take the test
thanks fellas
That doesn't mean it has to be Thai government issued. So just send copy of your passport.

Great, thanks. Do you know if you can deposit with a foreign mastercard here? The lady in the email said there might be problems depositing.

Yes, completely agree about the dates keeping the numbers down. I waited to book my flight and after checking the numbers from Day 1, decided to wait for the WPT Cambodia starting Jan 2-13. I happen to already be in Thailand, but will need to travel half a day to get to the tournament.

Will post updates and looking to connect with people attending WPT Thailand, and how the overall experience is.

PMs welcome.

Happy Holidays!

If im not mistaken the hotel/casino is practically right next to the Thai border so you wouldnt even pass the Cambodian immigration.

greatt, the id went through but my lease didn't since it is "handwritten"
how soon/how can i get a utility bill or the like so stars will hop off? i really want to start playing again

What pokerstars said- However, we do still require a clear copy of your most recent utility, phone (landline only) or internet bill showing your name, address and statement date. If you do not have utility bills in your name, we will be happy to accept a credit card or bank statement which displays your current address, your name and a recent date (no older than three months). We cannot accept handwritten documents.

Find a form online, fill in the details on your computer, print it out and sign it with your landlord.

You could also (or at least used to) get a proof of address from immigration. I've forgotten all the requirements for it, though, and they differ depending on the immigration office you deal with.

Sup' people,
Arrived on the Thai side of a Cambodia/Thai border crossing yesterday and am slowly going to make my way to Bangkok within 1 month.
Looking for some recommendations on where to stop by on my way, basically somewhat within the area to not waste too much time in buses/trains:

Not looking for Pattaya/nightlife kind of things or prestine beaches.
More stuff like interesting cities, cultural sites and wildlife.

Anyone visited the KhaoYai National Park? Sounds quite cool but it might just be an overcrowded tourist trap from what I've read.

Also possiby stopping by at Ayutthaya.

Thoughts?

MB,
Forget the name of the place but you are near it. It's that disputed temple on the Thailand/Cambodia border that they trade shells over every few years. I hear it's worth a visit. Khao Yai definitely overcrowded but the weather is nice up there this time of year and if you pop for a night safari you'll probably see a wild elephant. Ayuthiya is worth a stop if you're into the temple stuff and you can catch a boat back to Bangkok from there.

Does anyone know the deal with regard to paying income tax when living in Thailand?

I assume everyone renting a condo on tourist and student visas simply doesn't bother no matter how much money they remit into the country but what about people with businesses in Thailand?

What about people (if there are any) who have significant investments in the country and don't want to skirt the law and pay income tax? There are people who for example buy 10m+ Baht condos and qualify for an investment visa, do they pay income tax or do they continue to skirt the law as well and simply don't worry about it?

I'll be chatting to a lawyer to find out what they think but does anyone have experience dealing with this kind of thing?

So if your simply remitting money from overseas into Thailand its no problem, its only if you earn money in the country working a job / from a business you need to pay?

Yeah I've been in BKK for one night before solo and stayed at aloft and went to Levels and from what I've gathered it's a lot of freelancers or whatever. Nothing wrong with that but I'm gonna be messing around Asia for a month, so for NYE my group (5 dudes/1 chick) would prefer to at least start the night partying with non workers. If we strike out I'm sure everyone will be down to get grimier after hours.

If you want to be around hiso girls that you wont be able to communicate with go to funky villa. I think somebody said the club next to funky villa is good too. Highly doubt you'll be picking up there without speaking Thai.

RCA will have some farang hunters that arent hookers running around though. Not sure how keen the "normal" girls will be to go home with tourist in a hotel but im sure its pretty doable if you got game and arent a bunch of fat dudes.

You could try the other clubs and see how you guys fair. If that doesnt work just hit up climax and levels and you'll have the sure thing!
Sweet thanks. From what I've found Ce La Vie might be a little too HiSo to meet people, so I think were gonna do Route 66. Basically were looking for some decent juking, preferably more Thais than white people, and girls who can speak some English. Is R66 a good choice for this or would you recommend a different spot? Any suggestions for a good after hours spot if we all strike out with normal girls?

funky villa hasn't been "hiso" for years. Demo, the club next to it does have some nice girls though. Also any "hiso"(makes more than 20k baht/month) girl will be able to speak some english

I'll preface my following question by saying I understand the laws/consequences/how things work in Thailand but......

Is getting molly/x even a reasonable thing to do in bkk? I know in the islands its relatively easy/common.

For literally almost any other country on this planet I would just bring it with me but stories like this have scared me off from even trying to get it through the airport and passed those dogs: http://www.chiangmaicitylife.com/cit...ust-dont-work/

Pretty much wanna know if I should even pursue this idea any further. Heard terrible **** about Indonesia then when I went they had full on ecstasy dens where everyone in the club was rolling and it was being openly sold. I figure if anyone can give me good advice it'll be a bunch of poker players. And I would prefer to not accidentally take a bunch of yabba or whatever lol. Thanks for the feedback guys.
