Im from Sweden and bowled 106, 137 and 112 while being fairly drunk and I rarely break 100 in Sweden so this might be correct...

I don't know if this is serious or not, but if you find a way to score opium in PP, i'd love to hear about it. I'm thinking of going there for a few days at some point this trip, and would love to chase the dragon once while i'm there

we went to downstairs in big C when otl had problems but they didnt even know what blue screen was. otl googled it for them and the only thing that came from that was that they started laughing at a picture where some lady wore a t-shirt of blue screen.

well.. depends on what you think is romantic

one of the places I like to go to, is Vertigo, which is on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel, all the way on the top, there's a bar/restaurant there, where you can sit down relax and have a full view over the whole city

Thailand sounds amazing and I would love to visit and maybe live there but a few questions. As I have traveled abroad in Asia and Europe, I find myself yearning for my American life before I get home. I love to travel and exp other cultures but I have to admit I am ****ing Americanized.

When I traveled to Taipei I found out quickly the taiwanese/chinese food I ate there was nothing similar to the stuff back home. I assumed it would be different but I did not enjoy. I love the Thai restaurants in my city (Pittsburgh) and wonder if it is the same type of situation as far as Thailand goes.

Is the Thai food there similiar or about the same compared to the thai restaurants in the US? Also, are there many farang restaurants and pubs that offer western food such as hamburgers etc. ?

I would really like if there is anyway possible to get American TV, in HD in Thailand. I've heard this is possible using slingbox technology but if anyone has any ideas on this let me know.

Last thing was marijuana, I smoke everyday and I need to have it available all the time, I read somewhere there was an island called Ko Samui that you could just smoke in public after dinner because there were no cops and people didn't care. I also don't want to get killed by a drug dealer if his gf smiles at me, so is it safe as well? Is the internet reliable on this island?

I'm a poker pro as well, and I feel like Pittsburgh is boring the **** out of me and I am dropping 1200 a month on a 2 bedroom in the city, and that money goes along way in Thailand. Thanks.

It sounds to me like Thailand is not for you. All of the issues you have require compromise, and if you have been homesick traveling, you will *definitely* get homesick living in Thailand, halfway around the world. It hits its worst at about 6 months, but it can be bad way before that.

Hi all,

Got a couple of questions but I'll post them separately since they're totally unrelated.

I'll be in Thailand next month, partly for a vacation and partly to scout out the country in hopes of moving there, most likely to Chiang Mai.

The catch is that I'm an intermediate poker player and I can't make a living playing online, so tutoring in English seems like the second best way to cover expenses. Does anyone know the going rates for private or semi-private English lessons and whether it would pay enough to live there?

Okay, second question...

While I'm on vacation I'll be checking out the night clubs and hopefully hooking up with some attractive Thai women.

I already knew that Thai bar girls/prostitutes sometimes drug their customers and steal everything they have when they're out cold. I always assumed it was by adding a drug to a drink, but I just heard a couple of days ago that some Thai prostitutes put the drug on their nipples, and you can guess what happens next.

How common is this? And aside from going platonic in Thailand, any advice on protecting myself from getting rolled?

Also, any recommendations for bars, meeting places, or particular women in CM would be appreciated

well, if you are happy with about 30K baht (about 1k us$) then yeah.. but most foreigners who stay here aren't able to live with that amount here, but it's possible ofcourse since thai average wages are like 15k baht a month
you'll just have to cut down a lot on stuff and find a cheap place to stay, or in my opinion, the better thing to do is find a coach to help you out on the poker area

usually these kind of activities are done by ladyboys, so if you are afraid from them (like me), just ignore them, and you'll be fine

also not acting like a big ass or jerk and use common sense will get u a long way here in thailand.. thailand is a pretty safe place, usually you won't have any issues or hassles at all, so don't worry too much about it, just take it easy and enjoy

Getting by in thailand by engrish tutoring is a terrible idea. learn to play poker well or live at home IMO

Hi all,

Curious if anyone has managed to get withdrawls from a poker site / e-wallet going to a Thai Bank account ? Not sure if its possible but I've got a Thai bank account and am tired of paying a fortune on bank fees/ conversion rates from my Aus bank/ visa card.
