Pretty good food suggestions already. I'd check out the eatigo app. I was finding some great deals on buffets at 5 star hotels. Up to like 80% off anazing food at certain times.

I'm also a huge fan of the dumplings at din tai fung. It's a chain in the nicer malls. The one at central world the best. Makes my mouth water thinking about them.

actually that app only goes up to 50%. Thought it ran to 80 for some reason.

My personal favs from it were brio which had 50% off like everyday. Brio is good but way overpriced food so at 50% its good overpriced food. Also 50% a hotel buffet at i think the rembrand hotel which turned out being if i remember right like 1500 baht for 2 with unlimited beer and wine which you could get like 4 hours out of drinking.

The super hot part of the year (april/may) is debatably worse. Rain keeps it cooler. Best time is around Xmas though.

India has a monsoon, ya, saw your post in the other thread. Plan the times that you go there, but for SE asia don't stress about it imo.

Nana hotel for a friendly location your first few nights in BKK, cheap and easy to meet new friends
Thanks! Reason for June/July is mainly because I have a wedding memorial day weekend and currently no other commitments and would rather do it open ended than stress about missing a planned event knowingly. Primary concern is missing out on exploring the scenery, rice fields, temples, motor bike adventure, etc and being unable to go to the beaches every few weeks as a break.
On 2k a month I could live rather well, not including flights(when necessary) and visas? I could adjust to hostel life to meet people but would probably prefer better quality food some of the time

Yeah steamed pork dumplings r my favorite. The ones with just pork much better then the more expensive crab pork combo dumpling. The shrimp and pork fried wontons I get Everytime I go. Beef noodle soup is great as well. They also got some good veggie dishes like kale and spinach. Expect spending around 400-600 baht a head with no alcohol.

The central world branch seems to have a level of consistency and quality the other ones don't hit. Ive been told it was the first din tai fung to open in Thailand so that's why it's best.

Yeah the steamed pork r soup dumplings. Their Taiwanese style dumplings. Much more flavorful then a standard Chinese dumpling.

No idea if that's true, however like 6 months ago it was really difficult to buy it from Bangkok pharmacies, visited like 10 of them around Sukhumvit Soi and every pharmacist looked at me like some criminal when I asked for Xanax. Finally got some from street boner pill seller with decent mark-up. Like half of Phuket's pharmacies still sold though.
Oops, I just took an international flight with 20 valium in my hand luggage. I knew it is prescription, but figured could talk my way out of it / also had them concealed and out of the original packaging with some other pain pills etc.

I just flat out can't get them anymore in CM at pharmacies, although I've only needed them twice. I recently tried in 5 pharmacies in CM and they all said variations of 'don't have" (maybe: definitely do have, but not for you?) and "you have to go to hospital, it's illegal" (probably sell to no-one).

Interestingly 18 months ago in BK I didn't even really know what valium was. Someone told me it was good for sleeping and the first place I went to beside Koh Sahn just sold me 50 for not much at all.

DTF is a chain(sort of) from Taiwan. FYI the ones in Taiwan are even better

IMO just order a bunch of Xiao Long Bao (the steamed pork soup dumplings) then maybe a couple small things to go with it.

Seriously vallium and Xanax are not worth it. You get addicted and build tolerance super fast.
And they sux to induce sleep

Really good advice on the valium. I know i only dabbled in them in the past but last time in Thailand i picked some up in Pattaya to help me sleep off some hangovers. They may not be the best for straight sleeping but they work really well when u wake up and cant get back to sleep after huge nights of drinking. I took like 1 10mg pill a day on a drinking binge for like 3 weeks and i had picked up minor withdrawal symptoms. I actually felt off for awhile after that. Benzos are a terribly outdated and addictive form of drugs.

Obviously you are going get addicted to them if you take them everyday. I find them great if I have to change my sleep schedule or want a really long sleep.

I think 10mg of valium is too much for someone that didn't use it before and doesn't have anxiety problems.
Diazepam (valium) pills usually starts from 2mg so that may be enough for someone but in thailand they sell mostly 10mg so you can cut it in smaller pieces.

I brought some from my country and 2mg is often enough to get me sleep..

I had a herpes scare once before realising it was a friction sore from rough sex (freebie from a working girl if you're reading Spiv, and she even banged k2d free too). I told her about it and she said her ex BF had the same problem. Went away after a week.

Anyway just in case I started taking 800mg - 1g of anti-viral herpes meds Acycolivir every day before bed, and it put me to sleep like a baby, really fast.

I do xanax 3 days/week and the other days dormirax which doesn't cause addiction and is cheap as ****.

This when I'm grinding 10 hours/day mostly at night so I can keep the schedule.

When I'm not grinding just some xanax when hangover or stilnox which is expensive and very strong in case I party a bit harder

Took xanax for 7 days at some point and felt like **** after I stopped, couldn't close an eye for 48 hours.

I've used valium before that. Many years ago I'd take 3 10mg valium and smoke pot or drink(big nono i know) to get messed up when i could get my hands on them(under 10times in my life for sure). I've also taking xanax(the 2.5mgbars) a bit back in my druggie days. I understand they have 1mg and 2.5mg in diazepam as well. I'm not a lightweight when it comes to taking drugs.

I never took benzos multiple days in a row before that though. Maybe twice in a row once or something just because the buzz isnt even good compared to other drugs you could take. They knock you out and you cant remember sheit way better highs to get. I was just surprised taking a 10mg dose for not even 3 full weeks which some people take 10mg 3 times a day recommended from a doctor could give me withdrawal symptoms. I wasnt taking the 10mg to feel high i was just taking to sleep off the hangover and calm me down so i could get hangover sleep. I felt off for a month. When i was reading into it more its crazy how bad the addiction to benzos can be and how easy it is to pick up a habit that will take years to get off.

Xanax half life sux so if you want really long sleep they are useless. to change your sleep schedule melatonine is way better.
To trigger sleep if i need a crucial night sometime i like ambien better.
I have had some big sleep disorder and from experience benzo suxed.
And to sleep longer when i was sleeping 3 hours a night without beeing able to sleep more every days i have been prescribed some strong anti istamic and it was doing the job way better than benzos or ambien.

Look into modafinil to be active after a heavy drinking night instead of messing up your sleep schedule by sleeping during the day taking xanax.
No clue if it s easy to get in thailand and how they treat it tho

Jesus guys, many of you need some pill to sleep.. I think poker cause this problem in most cases. Interesting.. hope you can resolve that problem. My humble advise is not taking pills to sleep and look for natural solutions =) good luck!
