Has anyone been to the Ekkamai clubs like Jet, or Muse? Heard those are pretty good, though not late night.

Yes, Chiang Mai girls are generally considered to be more beautiful. Definitely avoid the tourist/bargirl areas around the moat though, and head to where uni girls party, like Nimmanhemin street.

any regions in thailand that:

have good beaches + dont have locals who would bug me?

by bug me I mean: I dont want females to approach me. I dont want any bitches to come up to me and ask if I wanna have a good time, or if I wanna do this or that, etc...

also: how practical is it to go into burma or malaysia?

so your just looking to relax on a private beach? just about every island/great coastline has resorts with a private stretch of beach. phi phi island village is pretty cool (no backpackers, very secluded, great snorkeling and diving in the area).

burma is a lot easier to get into than i would have thought. malaysia is just another country, so no problems there.

going in for a day for a visa run is easy, but i hear that traveling around is different. you need to have a trip planned in order to get a visa. you have to bring enough us dollars with you to cover your whole trip (no ATMs). but ya it's definitely doable, i just don't really understand what would draw someone there except the ability to say "i'm hardcore i went to burma"

well im sure the country is as beautiful as thailand, and maybe you might see some beaches or buildings or hills that strike an accord w/ you.

also myanmar is not recognized by some international organizations. probably a country that is misinterpreted b/c of the way the govt runs things over there. IMO if it is safe for tourist, why not see what it is like over there?

I would prolly want to go maybe for a day or three, and then reevaluate.

ty for the info, ill research phi phi. if and when i go, I'd wanna spend a few days where i could rest w/o any of that crazy thai lifestyle.

Thailand is not the way you're picturing it with an unending flow of streetwalkers harassing you wherever you go.

if you want to go, then go. but again, you can't just go for a day then decide to stay. you need a visa, and to get a visa you can't just say meh i'm just gonna check it out for a day or three then reevaluate. i hear that the scenery is amazing, and i'm sure the people are great too. it's just that given the relative ease of traveling in thailand, laos, cambodia, vietnam, etc. instead, i don't see why anyone would feel the need to go without some special reason.
