Hey guys, wondering about the accomodation again. Saw some guys mentioned the Citadines apartments which looks really nice and so cheap:

http://www.citadines.com/en/promotio...n_bangkok.html

1625 per day including breakfast seems great. Anyone actually stayed at any of these apartments? How are they?

Also alot of guys seem to recommend the dream hotel which was my first choice before I saw the Citadines apartments. Dream hotel is somewhat more expensive (about 80 USD in comparison to 50 for Citadines), is it worth the money? I dont really have any problems paying the extra 30 per night if its nicer.

Also which has got the best location?

If anyone has any other inputs it would be appreciated. I wouldnt want to pay more than around $100 per day, so anything in that price class.

All rooms in the house are now rented. Probably won't be vacated for 3 months, but we'll know 30 days ahead of time so I'll post again when they are available in the future. Thanks.

Only problem I have with Citadines soi 11 is the restaurant - it's okay but I expect better food for those prices. The soi is full of alternatives though. Besides that, I'm very happy. Rooms are great, the free adsl is great, kitchen is well equipped enough to actually use for cooking, etc. I'm happy with it and I doubt there's anything better for this price+location.

Thanks dude, have a few more questions for you.

Why did you chose the one on soi 11 instead of one of the other ones? Is this a better location?

How is the breakfast?

Yes and the difference is huge iyam. The other sois are pretty dead compared to 11 with its clubs (Spice, Bed, Q) random bars, Hillary for pool, Villa Market, 30+ restaurants, massage places, etc. I'd never stay on 23 or 16 just 'cos I hate crossing that huge Asok intersection all the time (3.5 minute red lights? cmon ) and would pay more to stay on 11 over 8 even though the sois are right across from each other.

No clue about breakfast, I've yet to wake up that early.

all i could think of after reading this post was that you're not yet to wake up early for breakfast, you're just yet to come home late enough for breakfast. That's the only times I've ever taken advantage of buffet breakfasts whilst away :P

I rarely cross that intersection on foot... I just go underneath the street through the train station

i haven't been to chang mai yet, but i can't imagine that to be true. the light skinned thai girls always looked the most attractive (to me anyway). do chang mai girls look like isaan girls? post pics!

From what I understand, the Chiang Mai girls are whiter. I could've misunderstood though.

I've certainly heard Thai people say the Chiang Mai girls are hotter before.

Nope, no mustache girls here.

I think girls in Chiang Mai look more East Asian (lighter skin and sharper features) than Southeast Asian. Some could definitely be mistaken for Korean/Chinese. And I think I saw more head-turners in 1 night of walking through the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar than I did in all 3 nights of partying in Bangkok .

any recommendations for more after hours places in BKK?

went to tunnel last night, seemed like alot of freelancers and farang but otherwise the club itself was nice and the music was very good.

Have done the whole spice/spicey/lucky 7 thing, Just looking for somehwere with a better crowd? i.e. not tourists and freelancers, something like karafun/baroque

@ fletch, you can check out scratchdog and boss. Personally I havent been to boss but ive heard its not too different from spicey? Scratchdog is quite okay, but nothing like karafun. Certainly worth a trip though. Its on suk soi 22 in the basement of this huge hotel wich name I forgot.

What is baroque?

baroque is the place on the other side of the huge expressway next to rca. there's like a big car park there.

it's pretty cool inside but isn't truly after hours, it closes at 3am just one hour after RCA. I am pretty sure ofdabeat posted pics of it before.
