I arrived in bangkok yesterday and so far not so good, the airlines lost my lugged so i have no clothes just my laptop, booked the wrong hotel , it lookd good on the internet but the neighborhood is a ghetto. no one speaks any english so communicating issent easy.
I was at Pantip Planza today to buy electricity adapter to my laptop and that actually whent smooth, he spook thai and i pointed a lot.
Over the road to my hotel i think its a bird farm or something, cant really see in but hear a lot of bird noises all day/night and see a lot of cages it looks like guntanamo bay for birds.
Was planing on going to phuket but now im stuck at a hotel in a ****ty neighborhood waiting for my lugged too show up.
There must be some serious pussy around here for this **** to be worth it, Bangkok is a dump !

sorry to hear about your luggage. same thing happened to me when i first arrived. it sucks but there's not much you can do. it's your own fault if you think bkk is a dump. you obviously knew about this thread and did some research before hand, so you should have been able to find a nice hotel in a good location. my advice is to try to forget about your luggage, buy some cheap knock offs and go explore the city.

The reason i dident go too Sukhumvit area and book nice hotel was becouse i was planing to go to phuket the day after i landed.
But now im stuck here til i get conformation about my lugged.

i only suggested buying knockoffs because you'll get your luggage in a few days then you can throw the other clothes away instead of overpacking your luggage with them.

Why the smaller cities? That doesn't seem like the best idea if you're having language barrier issues. Check out the more touristy areas and alot of people speak pretty decent engrish.
