Bans and infractions will be handed out. Stop being ****ty posters. As mod here I now have to read all of your awful posts which I would normally just skim over. The bad attempts at sniping each other is going to stop. Competitive traveling is going to stop. Bad posting is going to stop.





A few rules:

No more one line posts insulting each other. I'm going to choose a poster completely at random for an example:

If lol69 posts something that is content and you want to call him an idiot, then you must also post content. For example, lets pretend he posts a link that says all foreigners are getting kicked out of Thailand in two weeks. I am aware that post is stupid, but it's technically content despite how stupid it is. If someone posts "lol69 you are stupid" that is going to get infracted and possibly banned. There will be no more stupid insults thrown around here.

Now if that same poster posted "lol69 you are stupid, read this article which shows why, or here's a well thought out post about why what you posted is stupid." Then that post is completely fine.



Swimmin has penis problems, we get it, I don't want to read a post about swimmin's penis size after every time he posts. If you've gotten to the stage in your life where you feel the need to insult someone for their penis in order to feel better then you won't be missed anyways. If you have a really good penis joke then take a chance if it's worth it, or throw it into a post that actually has a point instead of just insulting him.



A lot of posters are *******s, I know. Don't tell the thread you think another poster is an ******* every time you get a chance. All you are doing is drawing attention to the *******ry going on. You are also making the ******* more defensive which in turn makes him a bigger *******, and then makes it so other posters point out how big of an ******* he is. This is a stupid cycle that needs to stop.


Finally: A lot of you are probably going to accuse me of having favorites and treating people unfairly. That's because I have favorites and I'm going to treat people unfairly. Bad posters be warned.

That being said, I hope you won't be too excessive with your post deleting, I feel like most of the trolling in this thread is actually us just having fun ribbing each other a bit here and there. Hopefully you'll distinguish from the trolls that are the fun ribbing type just for laughs and the more serious 'F you man' trolls/insults.

You'll do what you see fit, I just hope this doesn't become an information only thread, a bit of personality and color is a good thing.

Going to thailand in february, 2 weeks of travelling and then 1 month of living to try and see if I want to move there long-term. Initially wanted to get an apt in bkk but after browsing on http://www.siamvillarentals.com/ a villa in phuket seems more attractive.

Wondering what places are best in Phuket and which cities/towns to avoid. Most important factors are convenience (supermarkets/restaurants etc), nightlife and good living conditions (internet access, good neighborhood etc.). Advice is very welcome.

Anyways, I've been planning to stay in Thailand for 8-10 months next year but with the new visa rules I have a problem with the round flight requirement for the new METV. Should I just send them a return flight ticket that exceeds the METV expire date in hopes that they dont care or what do you guys think?

There likely are underground games to be found here and there. Play at your own risk obviously.

I'd give it some time to see what consulates actually end up enforcing, at the moment there's a state of confusion, everywhere has different rules. Other places say you just need any round trip ticket, or any onward flight ticket to anywhere for the first entry (so 60 days in).
