I wouldnt contact with agents you dont know, especially if they know ur coming to thailand for the first time and looking for a place to stay there is a 100% u r getting ripped off. Come here get a shortterm rent for a month and look around.

@ pokerchris, I am not really an expert about real estate. i knwo ofdabeat knows a lot about it so pming him might be best.

As far as I can tell there are a lot of good areas and where i rent is where i can get the best deal setup for me. It realyl depends what important for you, size of teh house, pricing, furniture, style, location.

There will be a big meetup of players in bkk in new years eve imho, if youre cool your welcome to join us imo.

In regards to thai people helping you , BE CAREFULL! Im serious, DONT trust them.

Umm, you don't know me and a lot of the people that are out here. I think you would take that back if you actually knew us. I'm looking for an apartment of some kind. I'm pretty opened minded. I would probably want to stay in Koh Samui and would like to spend under $800 USD per month. I need an apartment for 2 months.

I'd also consider phuket near the beach, Koh Phanagen or any other suggestions.

If anyone has any good websites that have good prices or can make any recommendations that would be great.

so i arrived in phuket a few hours ago. staying in a hotel in patong for a few days until i get my **** sorted. anyone (with a car?) willing to show me (+1) around the island?

suggestions/help for renting a bungalow would also be appreciated. where are most of you staying?

hey man. I don't think many people, if anyone, has a car. I'm sure loads of people will be willing to show you around though if you either hire a car yourself or get some motorbikes

Most people are living in the south of the island around Kata, Karon and Chalong
