there have not much units been build over the last 10 years thats why the new units with modern design and better looks get higher prices.. Thats the market, and for houses there is just a smaller supply of houses in the central areas and lots of high paid expats thats what drives the prices.

wanting to live on sukhumvit makes no ***** sense

There's absolutely NOTHING on sukhumvit.. only way i would want to live there is if it was soi 22 or directly on ekkamai.
those are the only 2 streets with restaurants that are worth enduring all the fat touristy bastards and all the cheap hookers walking around for money.

You can get a 2006+ modern euro condo for 25-40k a month @ Silom/sathorn which are about 1000000x better than anything sukhumvit has to offer.

Houses do look old, guess what. there's no new house construction in major areas since you cannot build for infinity.

If you knew anything at all about the condo market, you'd see how horrible it is. Everything is overpriced. most Condo towers from suk 5 to 40 are going to be tore down because people don't buy units. Anyone with any housing knowledge would see right away how cheap everything in there is and how in 2years its already gonna fall apart.

Townhouses are the ****, if u dont like the furniture, just spend a little money. you're not stuck with neighbors and you can ball the house down for 6k and stay there for years if u want for as cheap as 15k a month

You should def just get a 1 bedroom, with nice kitchen and living room in a tower with pool on top instead of house.. prices will be the same but in the condo, the furniture will be way more nice and if u want some grass, theres 2-3 lounge on top of high rises with grass open during the day with food and drinks.
30-50k gets you a sick 1-2 bedroom in Silom/lang suan or sukhumvit.

The area from asok to ekkamai is hooker free apart from the very beginning near sow cowboy. Thong lor, ekkamai and the area around phrom pong are really nice places to lives, full of restaurants in the streets around.

Silom and Sathorn places are pretty much like a good area in newyork.

Quite streets with trees, high quality bakeries/lots of imported food..

Ekkamai/thonglor is CRAZY full all year long all day long, extremely noisy aswell unless you're in one of the house areas.

Soi 22 is only worth it beause theres larry's dive + bourbon street + good massage.

lol nice personnal attack here.

The only difference i see between living in a group and living alone is that you take a bigger place in a group, that it be a condo or a house. Witch one depends of the preference, both can be good.

paranoid makmak?

Theres quite a big market for nice looking new modern apartments, this market isnt made of thai people its made fo high paid expats... but there just arent as many of them as only a few were build during the financial crisis over the last 10 years and that is why the smaller rooms with a new better mordern look are getting higher rents. That is why a small 2 BR condo might rent for 60k baht while you can get a 3 BR apartment just 10 years older for just 45k baht.

Overpriced or not, thats the market.

2 overpriced places on "on nut"... ok why not.

guy from bkk with 6 posts:

Funny things i posted only apartments on good areas furnished and cheap and restrained from brand new overpriced expats places with professional pictures making them look way cooler than they really are. Maybe it was intentional who knows... Do you prefer that i post a selection on 80k apartment? or 45k small one bedrooms whose price is only justified because people living there do not pay for the apartment but their company does...

seriously

Anyway it doesn't matter, if you feel like paying a ton go ahead...

Also did i wrote just one time "baller" ?

Yeah only an average of 29 new projects a year since 2003 ( about 8100 new units a year between 2003 and 2006 and growing for the last two years )... That's only about 55 000 new units of max 5 years old. Manylevels i don't know where you get your infos.

only 250,000 a month...

For 50 000 less you can have this walking distance from the emporium:
http://www.kkeasyhome.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?seq=16124

160w(ai)sq is 640sqm...

Or this on sukhumvit 33 with a private pool of course.

So yes your link is indeed baller if you have no clue.

Nice listings offdabeat. So it's best to get a hotel for a bit and call these places to look in person if one were to stay for several months? What's the minimum amount of time required to spend there for places like this?

For that price I'll go for :

Intercontinental if you plan to go shopping
shangri-la if you don't want any hassle when bringing "guests"
sukhothai for calm and class

Lebua is good though
