a new rule state that u can only be in thailand for 90 days of 180 days. this means that for regualr tourist visa, u cant do the "go to laos and get another 90 days". u must first be outside thailand for 90 days.

wrong. You can on a tourist visa but not on a 30 days stamp. You can stay 180days out of 180 in thailand on a tourist visa.

WITHOUT visa you can only be in thailand for 90 days within 180 days. with visas you can be forever as long as they keep giving you the visas.

Well i will try to make it easy for you.


Ask a Double entry VISA before you come.

When you will enter in thailand, you will use the first entry, witch is good for 2months (dont leave the country).

At the end of the 2 months, go to the immigration in bkk, and ask for a 30 days visa extention (will cost you like 2000 bath, i dont remember exactly)

so we are at 90 days right ?

at the end of the 30 days visa extention, leave to country (you can go to any border, combodia, malaisia etc etc)

At the border, they will valid you the 2nd entry.. and voila. you are good for 2more months, and after the 2 months, go back to immigration in bkk for another extention of 30 days.

about cahs out, if you absolutly want use cheque, yes you can do it that way because Rooms only send cheque to your registred adress, so keep the US (?) adress, ask someone in your family to grab it and go to bank for you

But seriously, just use VISA..its a lot better and easier.

Just 1 week at Koh Samui. Some information for people interested in comming:

The place is just REALLY comfortable, the hotel rooms have very big beds , if you look a little you find cheap restaurantes with GREAT quality and quantity (Lamai Area), And there are COUNTLESS girl bars.

At girl bars the girls are always incredibly friendly, and you are going to spend a funny time there you want it or not as long as you have some money. (Just to buy a beer from time to time).

If you want to take a girl, standar rate is 300 Baths Barfine & 1000 Baths for the girl. Drink with a girl 150 Baths, so you can have some more intimacy.

Just moved to a house at a touristic resort, 5 minutes from Lamai Town in motorbike with AC and spacious ( 3 big rooms + bath + large bed ) for 11K Baths a month.

The motorbike is 3.5 K baths a month. 125 cc motorbike, more than you need for these crappy roads.

They put me internet free at the room, DSL 2 Mbps, and seems to work fine, but still need to check thoroughly.

Also, I have access to a wireless net (that covers a part of the island), of DSL 4 Mbps, for 1.5K Baths a month, in case the first one gives problems.

So this, seems to be well sorted out.

The beach is gorgeous (and still haven't visited Chaweng, that is supposed to be much better). I can't imagine anything else to make the place more enjoyable.
