Even basic cable comes with like 14 sports channels that seem to cover every match in every league throughout the world.

they have highschool matches on thai cable, so i wouldnt be surprised..

i saw a match from an issan highschool team the other day, the ball looked like it had been eaten by a dog for a couple years and the grass on the court was pretty long

I can sum up Karafun in 10 words:

Ass
Ass
Ass
Bring your A+ game
More ass
Ass

Lots of coyotes and hostess girls roll there after their g-clubs close. Girls driving up in their BMWs, groups of girls, pairs of girls, girls walking out of Caribbean right into Karafun, etc.

Know what you don’t see a lot of? Farang guys.

If someone could provide some help on this topic I would be grateful! (so would others)
http://www.traveldocs.com/th/vr.htm#USA

I plan on using this site for obtaining my visa, I plan on staying for 90 days.

It requires proof of round-trip tickets, so I just bought tickets to Phuket (Leave Jan 7 2009 Return Apr 5 2009).

I send in my passporte, printed e-ticket(?), bank statement, and the credit card form filled, and feees for the Single Entry - Non-Immigrant visa /61-90 day stay .

Is all this good? Thanks for the help!

yeah the restaurant seems pretty cool according to the website.

just got back from vesuvia (sp?) italian restaurant on soi 11. it's a bit expensive by thai standards (< 1500 baht for 2), but the menu selection is huge, service is wonderful, and above all the food is outstanding.

7:30am bkk time right now

me, my bro, screech, and dal kid started the night off at santika, followed by rca and then spicy at 2am. i went with my bro to karafun at about 3:30am. taxi didn't know this place since it's relatively new but once I mentioned yak meng jai road he found it. we got a bottle of jonnie walked black label relatively inexpensive at 2000 baht (or you can pay cover at 500 baht/person and get 2 drinks), mixers were 80 baht a piece. parking lot is full of young thai's and their cars. inside is one big area with green lasers and many tables, i think the dj played house/techo/hiphop music, crowd is dancing and friendly, they set up a table for us right in the middle of the action, pretty good service. i saw about 10 farangs at this place which makes it my number one after hours place at the moment. lots of eye candy in every direction, girls are by far better looking than any other place i know that's open late. a lot come with their own group, and many are with their thai boyfriends, so don't expect to get approached by girls asking if they can be the lucky one to go home with you. i was told it would close at 5:30am, i left at this time, but pretty sure it went on till 6am.

nope. i've never ate there before. lemoncello is next door and has the nicer cars parked there so we usually just eat hter . i can't find the name of the place anywhere on the net, but it's between grand president and the bottom of the soi on the same side as bed and supper club.

funny that they have that club on the other side of the street, when police shut spicy down, and you have to walk through a restaurant to get there.
def have to check out this karafun place next time we go to bkk.

Hey,

I posted this in the other thailand thread (there seem to be a bunch here), but it seems pretty dead, so i'll ask again here -

Im going to Phuket for 2-6 months in mid november. Havent committed to a specific region there yet, looking for suggestions. Im going with my gf, so nightlife and partying isnt that much of a priority, mostly just looking to lay back and relax on the beach (preferably not insanely crowded) or my (hopefully) ballin backyard.
The one thing i need to be close by is a tennis center and i havent been able to find any real info on those (only found a couple in phuket town, but from what ive been told, its hardly the best place to live). By close i mean like walking distance (or a few minute bicycle trip or w/e. distances are pretty relative).
Ending up somewhere near 2p2-ers would def be a bonus (ssnl plz ).
Tips?

e: i will obviously need to get a laptop for grinding over there. i can get electronics at well below retail where i am right now, will i get an even better deal over there (example: ibm x61s for ~$1400)?
How about "restricted" phones like iphone3g or android g1 (obviously i would need one without a contract or simlock)?

if you want a beach, dont stay in phuket town. the best beaches are on the south west side of the island (kata, kata noi and nai harn). kata is fairly crowed during high season (****ing scandis), but nai harn and kata noi are usually pretty relaxed. you can get a house in the rawai/naiharn area with a backyard for a good price and be about a 5 minute bike ride from nai harn or kata beach.

electronics - aside from phones - are a bit more expensive here than in the west. you iphone should be able to work here if you get a sim card.

your best bet is to just get here and stay in a hotel for a few days and cruise around looking for a house. just let us know when you get here and we'll help out.

Finally booked my ticket to Thailand now....should be arriving in BKK on the 15th December - any people going to be about BKK that sort of time? Wouldn't mind meeting up with anyone who passing by there for Dec or anyone who's currently living there (poker playing/or not) - am coming along with a friend and intend to rent a place there for 6month - sooo looking forward to it -

So shoot me up a PM If your going to be about BKK that sort of time - also how's celebrating New Year in Dec - where's the best places to be @?

Does anyone know any good real estate agent who rents out places in Ekaemi/Thong Lor/ or Asok? sp.

Peace

C

The people who are staying for 90+ days - what kind of visas do you have? I know there's a lot of information about it on the net, but a lot of it is also pretty conflicting..
So what stay duration did you specify on the form? How many entries? Do you have to go on visa runs every month and if so, how long an extension does that provide?
