Random question, is 1000 baht the absolute largest Thai note? Like there isn't a rare larger note that banks would hand out similar to the £50 note right?

hey i came to thailand last year in december, used two entry tourist visa (6 months total with visa extension in immigration) then i went to malaysia to make new tourist visa but they said i have to show some paper from my employer that i have a job and my bank statement, which i didnt have so i come back to thailand for 1 month and did edu visa in chiang mai, which gonna end next year around february and i wonder what is my best option for visa

i dont like to learn thai, i didnt visit my school so i just risk some test with edu visa and i definitely fail if they decide to test me, i also dont like to leave thailand every 3 months and go every two months to immigration office, is there any other option how to make visa? are there some companies that can make business visa for me or something and i just pay them?

If you don't want to do visa runs you have 4 options - listed from cheapest to most expensive.

1. Get an Education Visa
2. Get married
3. Start a company big enough to get you a work permit, this one would be really expensive, e.g. almost 100,000 baht a year
4. Get a Thailand Elite card, which entitles you to stay permanently in the country for 5 years, and costs 500,000 baht.

Or (and this one is about to become a lot more popular) you can just overstay, and pay the maximum 20,000 baht fine when you leave. The only problem with this method is that if you get arrested or somehow caught by immigration while still in the country, you could end up in immigration detention before being deported and blacklisted. You may also be barred from re-entering Thailand once you leave. This hasn't actually happened to anyone yet that I have heard of though. I know a couple of guys here who overstayed for years, paid the fine, and were back a week later.

I don't think you need a re-entry permit? If you do, you can get it at the airport (almost) 24/7.

I'm guessing you need an extension to your stay? And I'm pretty sure you can get that done on monday as well.

I assume you dont have time to visit immigration before you leave?

Otherwise, you can get reentry at Suvarnabhumi airport. Dont know about Don Muang. Any other airport, you´re out of luck afaik.

I know several people, where option 2 turned out to be far far more expensive, than anything else

If you dont plan on leaving the country anyway, overstaying is the cheapest solution, though carries an inherent risk as Pokerspiv mentioned.
No one has been blacklisted yet, but if they suddenly decide to enforce that rule (suggested rule??), people overstaying will be in trouble, as there will most likely be no period of amnesty.

Obviously you missed the part of the post where he says he doesn't want to do visa runs or extensions every 2 months.

Just get a re entry permit at the airport. Desk is right there before the immigration lines. 1,200bt.

What kind of visa do you have that grants you the right for a re entry permit?

It would help if you told us exactly what visa you had, how many entries, when is the "enter before" date etc

(I'm guessing you have a tourist visa with more than one entry).

Then you don't need a re-entry permit. If you have entries left on your visa, just leave and come back and you will start using the new entry

With re-entry permit, you'd just continue using the days you are given now, getting a re-entry permit wouldn't add any days to your stay. It's mostly useful to people with non-immigrant visas that are given a year (for example) and need to leave Thailand for a while. With re-entry permit, they'd just come back and continue using the original entry's stay.

Anyone here ship stuff to Thailand from Europe (Desktop/Screens/Sports equipment) ? Is it worth it (especially for monitors, am I just better off buying them in Thailand?). Tried getting a quote from sevenseasworlwide but it didn't work.

if you're using a high res monitor ure better off shipping it here, if just standard buy it online from Lazada when u get here, they usually have best prices, its also cash on delivery so you won't get scammed

you can definitely get 3-4 double entry tourist visas in a run in vientiane, laos, the problem is that malaysia consulate is stricter, not your visa history

if anyone does overstay, always have funds set aside on an ATM card on your person, to attempt to bribe your way out of being sent to detention when caught, or in the event of being detained to get out after a few days - apparently they won't let you have your cellphone / internet access / send for any belongings unless you have money, just escort you to an ATM to buy a flight ticket out, and pay a ~7k court fine. people who overstayed without access to money or any friends have been in detention for much longer until an embassy worker turns up - thaivisa trip report

but if you have enough money they have private vip rooms, internet access, speed up the process to get out, food delivery, even laos hookers

brag: in the spirit of the cambo thread I walked 2 blocks from the chiang mai airport and caught a tuk tuk and saved $4!

beat: I only had a backpack to carry as my luggage never made it from the states as it was officially 'lost and should arrive in a couple days'

variance: I plan on getting some airline vouchers for this ****, though I'll be happy with just finally receiving my luggage

You pay 500,000 baht, and the card entitles you to 1 year extensions of stay for the entire 5 years.
